Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith

KC fans loved Smith lol I lived in OKC and their were plenty of fans there and most of them were thrilled to have him.. IDK why this dude says that.

Smith is going to help the defense. He may not light up the score board but the low turnovers helps the defense big time. With smith have a good punter and you will get field position advantage often. You won't give up cheap ones so teams will have to earn it against you.

Re: Redskins Trade for Alex Smith

Cousins wants to test the market, he doesn’t want his future dictated in a trade. At this point he doesn’t owe the Skins or anybody, anything. I don’t see a reason why he would go along with a tag and trade.

Been reading there was a bidding war in the trade for Smith. Makes me wonder what the Chiefs said 'no' to before they accepted the Skins offer of draft pick and a slot DB.

Reed isn't Kelce only because hes made of glass, BUT we do have VDAVIS and I think they'll add another TE this OS. We need a RB bad, Perine is a good backup and CT is a scat back, we dont have a guy that scares anyone.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith

EDIT: Looking over the twitter, I'm not sure that actually is Alex Smith's.

Sorry for the fake news LOL

I know people said for the longest time that KC's Twitter feed didnt mean anything (looking at S10 here) but look at Alex Smith's:

https://twitter.com/QBAlex_Smith

He's photoshopped himself (although kinda looks like KC) and his main image is the Skins offense on the sideline.

KC's has said "Business Inquiries: Luke Munson luke@lwsports.net"

There is a huge difference.

Kirk wanted out all along, everyone knew that

Smith looks good in a skins jersey, and 11 is a good number for us

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith

I'll watch film of Alex Smith, before that, here are stats of Smith and Cousins when facing the same defenses, in 2017:

-Against the Eagles: Smith 21/28, 251yards, 1 TD (21 rush yards) sacked 4 times / Cousins 23/40 240 yards, 1 TD 1 INT (30 rush yards) sacked 4 times and Cousins 30/40 303y 3 TDs 1 INT (18ry) 4sacks

-Against the Chargers: Smith 16/21 155y 2TDs (9ry) 5sacks and Smith 23/30 231y 2 TDs (13ry) 1sack / Cousins 15/27 151y 1TD 1INT (8ry) 2sacks

-Against the Raiders: Smith 25/32 342y 3TDs (0ry) 1sack and Smith 20/34 268y 0TD 1INT (24ry) 4 sacks / Cousins 25/30 365y 3TDs (2ry) 1sack

-Against the Broncos: Smith 14/31 202 1TD (33ry) 1sack / Cousins 19/37 299y 3TDs 1INT (8ry) 0sack

-Against the Cowboys: Smith 25/34 263y 2TDs 1INT (19ry) 2sacks / Cousins 26/39 263y 1TD 1INT (0ry) 4sacks and Cousins 26/37 251y 2TDs 2INTs (6ry) 4sacks

-Against the Giants: Smith 27/40 230y 0TD 2INTs (27ry) 1sack / Cousins 19/31 242y 2TDs 1INT (4ry) 6sacks and Cousins 20/37 158y 0TD 3INTs (12ry) 3sacks

So, on common opponents this season:

Smith averaged 242,75 yards - 1,38 TDs - 0,5 INTs - 2,25 sacks

Cousins averaged 252,44 yards - 1,77 TDs - 1,22 INTs - 3,11 sacks

I'm not trying to read too much out of these, and am well aware that football is the ultimate team sport, QB is the ultimate dependable position, and Smith had a running game that Cousins didn't have.

But, I do think these numbers show you Smith is far from being a dramatic downgrade from Kirk, and he sure seems to be throwing less INTs than Kirk.

I still think Cousins can be a better QB considering what he's been capable to do under pressure behind a battered OL.

I also think we got the best replacement available.

They played us and Smith shredded us on the ground and air.
