Texans | Cowart signed
Fri, 24 Mar 2006 12:58:03 -0800 ESPNews reports the Houston Texans have signed free agent LB Sam Cowart (Vikings). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Eagles | Runyan re-signed Fri, 24 Mar 2006 13:12:27 -0800 The Philadelphia Eagles have announced the team has agreed to terms with free agent ORT Jon Runyan (Eagles) on a three-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. obviouosly runyan is a big deal and he'll continue to help the eagles, a very solid piece on the O-line. We looked into cowhart, but he is older and slower, and in the end, the skins probably never made an offer, since he didn't visit. |

Seahawks | Burleson signs offer sheet
Fri, 24 Mar 2006 14:15:34 -0800 Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports the Seattle Seahawks have signed restricted free agent WR Nate Burleson (Vikngs) to an offer sheet. The Minnesota Vikings have seven days to match the offer. If they do not, the Vikings would receive Seattle's third-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. giving burleson 7$mill a year is almost as stupid as giving julian peterson 8$mill a year... what are these guys smoking? |

Buccaneers | Walker re-signed
Fri, 24 Mar 2006 15:00:03 -0800 Buccaneers.com reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed free agent ORT Kenyatta Walker (Buccaneers). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. not an amazing OT, but better to have a decent starter than a terrible one. |

Jets | Baker re-signed
Fri, 24 Mar 2006 15:17:46 -0800 The New York Jets have announced the team has re-signed free agent TE Chris Baker (Jets). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Patriots | Team officially re-signs S. Neal Fri, 24 Mar 2006 16:01:27 -0800 Patriots.com reports the New England Patriots have officially re-signed OL Stephen Neal to an undisclosed contract. Patriots | Team restructures Dillon's contract Fri, 24 Mar 2006 15:44:13 -0800 John Tomase, of the Boston Herald, reports the New England Patriots have restructured the contract of RB Corey Dillon, dropping his 2006 salary from $3 million to $710,000. According to agent Steve Feldman, the team recently picked up a $3 million option bonus, guaranteeing that Dillon makes $6 million this year. The Patriots likely transformed Dillon's $3 million salary into a signing bonus and spread the cap hit over the final three years of his deal, saving $1.7 million off this year's cap. willing to keep an aging dillon, but not a vinetari in his prime... sad. |

Buccaneers | Woodson has good visit
Fri, 24 Mar 2006 19:18:48 -0800 Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers met with free agent CB Charles Woodson (Raiders) Friday, March 24. According to his agent, he had a good meeting with the Bucs. "Charles said everything went well," agent Carl Poston said. "But I expected him to enjoy it. They have good people there and they all know each other." Poston said no contract negotiations have taken place, nor does he expect any until Woodson visits the Green Bay Packers next week. first mention of woodson actually getting enough interest to make visits. |

Woodson's a good player, but don't expect him to be a leader.
It was a mistake the Raiders made |

Patriots | Koppen expected to fully recover from last season's injury – if all goes to plan
Sat, 25 Mar 2006 21:51:43 -0800 Michael Felger, of the Boston Herald, reports it was learned last week that New England Patriots OC Dan Koppen (shoulder) suffered a badly torn rotator cuff (in addition to a dislocated shoulder) in the Patriots' Nov. 13 win at Miami last season. The injury knocked Koppen out the remainder of the year and set him on a rehab program that has only recently seen him turn the corner. A source close to Koppen said last week that a full recovery is expected and that if everything goes according to plan. "My only expectation is that I will be 100 percent at some point," Koppen said. The rotator cuff injury is particularly concerning because Koppen's calling card is his upper-body strength. those crazy pats sure do keep the lid on tight, considering this injury report is only about 4 months late. |

Packers | J. Walker selling his house; preparing to move on
Sun, 26 Mar 2006 05:39:51 -0800 Ron Borges, of the Boston Globe, reports the Green Bay Packers opened their offseason workout program without unhappy WR Javon Walker, who put his house up for sale in Green Bay the day after the workouts began and enlisted the help of his parents to clean it out. Walker claims he'd rather retire than play a fifth season for the Packers. Green Bay is insisting it will not trade him. Cowboys | Team made a late push to re-sign K. Johnson Sun, 26 Mar 2006 05:17:59 -0800 Gary Myers, of the New York Daily News, reports the Dallas Cowboys made a late push to re-sign WR Keyshawn Johnson before he signed with the Carolina Panthers. Carolina was concerned about losing out to Dallas at the last minute, but Johnson took the Panthers' offer, which pays him $7 million this year: $5 million to sign, with a $2 million base salary. I thought KJ would end up in dallas or carolina, and i guess that's where the interest was. and javon is still copping an attitude. |

Jaguars | Arrington has good visit
Sun, 26 Mar 2006 05:59:28 -0800 The Florida Times-Union reports free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) had a good meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday, March 25, according to Jaguars senior vice president Paul Vance. "We like him as a player and we like him as a person,'' Vance said. Arrington stayed in Jacksonville Saturday night after spending the day with Jaguars' officials and was scheduled to leave Sunday morning, March 26. Arrington has indicated he's looking for a contract in the range of the seven-year $54 million deal that LB Julian Peterson got from the Seattle Seahawks. Vance declined to characterize the status of the negotiations except to say that talks will continue. just cause one team is monumentally stupid doesn't mean another team will be as well. seattle could have gotten JP for FAR less (maybe even 35mill or less). Good luck being waiting for that fat contract though. |

Eagles | Moulds would like to play in Philadelphia
Mon, 27 Mar 2006 05:48:10 -0800 Paul Domowitch, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports the Philadelphia Eagles top a list of five teams Buffalo Bills WR Eric Moulds wants to play for. "Every time I mention Philadelphia, Eric's ears perk up," said Greg Johnson, who represents the 32-year-old Bills wide receiver along with his partner, Harry Henderson. "He wants to go to Philadelphia. He really feels he could help them. He loves the idea of being an Eagle and playing with Donovan [McNabb]." Johnson said he talked to Eagles president Joe Banner last week. He said there is "some interest" in Moulds by the Eagles, which an organization source also acknowledged. According to a source from one of the five teams on Moulds' wish list, which also includes New England, Seattle, Kansas City and Denver, the wide receiver is looking for a contract similar to the one WR Isaac Bruce signed with the St. Louis Rams two weeks ago. One source said the Houston Texans may be willing to pay Moulds the money he is seeking. Johnson confirmed that the Texans have expressed interest in Moulds. "They're very interested," he said. "There are other teams in the mix as well. We're going to play it by ear. We'll see what happens." Texans | More on Moulds situation Mon, 27 Mar 2006 05:48:45 -0800 John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports the Houston Texans are indeed interested in trading for Buffalo Bills WR Eric Moulds. Before the Texans can work out the trade with Buffalo, they have to negotiate a new contract with Moulds. A league official familiar with the negotiations said Sunday night, March 26, that the Bills are asking for a fourth-round pick. so moulds wants an isaac bruce contract (5mill a year/3years) AND he wants to go to the Eagles. Someone needs an IQ test. nevermind that the iggles would have to also give up a 4th round pick. |

Dolphins | Team may have a second visit with Arrington
Mon, 27 Mar 2006 06:18:40 -0800 Armando Salguero and Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, report the Miami Dolphins may schedule a second visit with free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins). The Dolphins don't necessarily want to meet Arrington's asking price, but the source said the Dolphins want to convince Arrington that playing in head coach Nick Saban's scheme is worth lowering his asking price because it would increase his worth in the future. Redskins | Taylor To Miss Part Of Offseason Workouts Mon, 27 Mar 2006 08:58:38 -0800 Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins S Sean Taylor will not take part in the team's offseason workout program until his felony assault charges are resolved. Taylor is scheduled to be on trial April 10 in Miami for attempted assault with a firearm. probably well aware of this by now. |
