re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
Honestly bro I agree that Griffin should sit a week, but there is another part of me that wants to win three more games and be 10-6. To get there I believe that Griff needs to play. But at the same time I know this is more about putting a player like him out there with the risk of creating a much worse situation for all of us.
I would have been ecstatic with 8-8 considering our situation this year. Now I want to win the division as a fan, and also as a guy who would love to see the cosmic forces come together and punish Mara for handicaping us!

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
I'm torn if I'm happy or not about this...RGIII is our future and I want him to remain healthy but this to me kinda says that we are not taking our playoff chances seriously as if you are and our best player can play then he plays.
I think Kirk can win but our offense is going to be different with him in the line up. It changes everything, passing game, running game, the play action which has been vital to our success everything. The Browns are not the greatest but they have a decent D and now do not have to account for RGIII so they can key our run game and tee off on Kirk. Not the best position to be in when we need to win this game and still need help to make the playoffs. Don't get me wrong still think we can pull it out but it's gonna be a lot tougher. HTTR |

I will admit it's not a good look for Griffin to already miss games as a rookie but he's gotta sit. IMO luck is a lock now for roy.

Re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
Playoff chances and championships don't come along everyday, the Nationals found out the hard way that when you don't give it your all and go for broke you always fall short.
Here we are sitting in a spot to maybe make the playoffs, and possibly with some help win the NFC East, and we bench our star. I know his future is bright but this is a right now sport, and right now the chance is here, who knows if we will be in this spot again. Now like I said I think Kirk is capable and we can still win but this was the knock on RGIII all along, who says this doesn't happen again next year? Or very year will he ever see a full season and if not what do we do then? All in on Kirk he holds the season in his hands...love RGIII but we have to decide now if we can really win with this guy for the next 10 years or is he gonna constantly remain hurt and we need back up to win big games. |

Re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
Reasons to be optimistic:
1) the Skins were middle of the pack in Offense last year despite a starting QB who turned the ball over 28 times in 13 starts 2) The Skins ran the ball very well down the stretch last year with backups along the O-line and with Helu and Royster carrying the load 3) the Skins leading Rceiver last year was Jabar Gaffney 4) Graham Gano. Nuff said. Cousins > Grossman Morris > Helu and Royster Garcon > Gaffney Forbath > Gano Yes, the D was better last year, but the Browns D scares us more than their O. We struggle covering Tight Ends, but the Browns don't have a good one. The Skins should still be able to run the ball and our kicker won't cost us the game. We should be able to win with Cousins.

Re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
I'd really just love to see our defense put together a whole game. These "second half" statistics are impressive, but it's time to do it the whole time. Just want Cousins to go on a roll, Skins to go up a couple of scores, and stop giving me a heart-attack.

I don't like the idea of our line having to pass protect a lot more due to the difference in mobility. Hopefully, he has enough time to get passes off.

Re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
For sure. I also absolutely buy the idea that others have been saying about how we've been burned in the past, so we're understandably cynical. I think it's the writers putting out articles talking about really detailed facts about the Browns defense that makes me more nervous with RG3 out.

Re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
I agree, perhaps we will see a little more Moss in the slot, and 2 TE sets in order to give Kirk some check down options....unfortunately I feel we have to play more conservative and hope to beat them close...never thought I would say that about the Browns
