Yeah, yeah I know I'm just apologizing for ESPN. Whatever
Whoa brah. I didn't see that statement as apologizing. You are right about Fish should know about players being contacted on their time, but my gripe is with the lame drama stories to begin with.

Wasn't addressing you specifically on the last part

24 hours/multiple channels plus digital-not every segment is going to be pulitzer prize winning.

But this whole "Sam showering with the fellas" thing is something that a lot of fans have wondered/worried about. I agree it should be a non-story, but it's not.

Good on Mendenhall. He had a plan for his life and he's following through.

Honestly this is a start, but not good enough. NFL instead of shunning NCAA as usual, should reach out to them to adopt some type of uniform/umbrella policy. If you follow college sports this has been a hot button issue within their ranks the last couple years. If your 18 your an adult, even in college; thats seems to be where these behaviors develop. If the school/conference is going to "cover" for their star athelete to do whatever...

I actually got to know a girl back in college who was sexually assaulted at Va Tech by a football player and transfered to where I went to school because of how strong the football player was protected by the institution. Pretty sad all the way around.

Not the first and not the last time it will happen: Local News | Convicted of assault and accused of rape, star player received raft of second chances | Seattle Times Newspaper

The NFL is setting a more stringent standard for player behavior than has ever existed in any professional sports league.

Sucks that it took Ray Rice knocking out his fiance to get this through though. The part that scares me though is was it implemented because they realized it was the right thing to do or was it more a business decision? It's kind of sick when rules promoting the most basic of social conduct are only passed because someone in a suit was scared of making less money.

I will say this though, I give credit to Goodell for admitting he was wrong. I've never had to do it myself but I understand its quite difficult.

Quote:
“My disciplinary decision led the public to question our sincerity, our commitment and whether we understood the toll that domestic violence inflicts on so many families,” Goodell said in a statement. “I take responsibility both for the decision and for ensuring that our actions in the future properly reflect our values. I didn’t get it right. Simply put, we have to do better. And we will.”

Eli Manning here, AMA. : IAmA

AMA from Eli Manning. I give him props on some good answers.

FauxPelini -After you throw an interception do you want to punch the guy who caught it or do you mostly just feel sad?

RealEliManning- I don't think I've ever thrown an interception?

toofastkindafurious -Eli. Huge fan.

Over the years you have broken the hearts of many fan bases. Do you have any memorable run-ins with some angry fans?

RealEliManning- Philly fans seem to be the most angry.

How does Manning have time for this? Shouldn't he be watching film and studying the playbook? What a loser.

The hero the Rams needed, but not the one they deserved, just got cut. Pretty sure he'll catch one with a team or a practice squad pretty quick though.
