Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News
There are reports that Raheem Morris is expected to join the Atlanta Falcons defensive staff. There are also reports that we have interest in bringing in Perry Fewell (former NY Giants DC) to replace Raheem as DB Coach. See sources below.
@MikeJonesWaPo: Raheem Morris expected to leave Redskins for Atlanta Falcons @JasonLaCanfora: Former Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell interviewing with the 49ers today. Skins also have some interest in him for DBs opening |

It's funny Morris is not good enough for skins fans, yet he is good enough for Dan Quinn as a senior assistant.

I will take my chance on what's behind door #2 over the "known" experience of the past 2 years. Quinn & Morris go back a ways, so this is Quinn surrounding himself with people he trusts and is comfortable with. Nothing wrong with that- I would sure build my staff the same way. |

Richard Crawford was on 980 the other day discussing the differences in our D compared to San Diego's. He basically said when he was here, under Haz, we ran a little bit of everything schematically. Jack of all trades, master of none (my interpretation). In SD, he said the schemes were much simpler and fewer in number. Statistically, they were more successful than we were. I'm really not sure how much of a talent differential there was. On certain plays, we had 4 or 5 professional football players that didn't seem to have a clue where they were supposed to be. No idea if this was related to the complexity of the defensive call. Depending on who you asked, safety or corner, there was or was not a communication issue. When in doubt, simpler is better. Dallas had a talentless defense that was better than ours running the simplest scheme since the late 90s. Barry will be an improvement over Haz. Morris: Cooley explained the other day that a position coach says "Sir, yes Sir" when a coordinator calls the defense; whether he agrees or not. Morris' role in the debacle this year is impossible to quantify unless you're in the meetings and on the sidelines. That being said, I hope we part ways. Sometimes change is good. Wish him the best. |

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News
Much like QBs, I think fans tend to give coaches way too much credit and too much blame. Morris is a good coach who obviously will have no problem landing on his feet after his time here.

This. Outside of of the random coach who "loses" his players with poor leadership I think the effect of coaching (especially position coaches) is pretty overrated at the pro level.

I agree on coaches getting to much credit or blame. With QB's I believe they control it all. Give us Brady and we are a contender next year.

A: Fans who don't understand that Belichick has surrounded Brady with very talented teams. dmacisabeast comments on [Serious] What is a pet peeve you have about your favorite team that fellow fans tend to ignore/support? Neither Brady, Rodgers, Luck, nor Manning would make this team a contender.

You know he went 11-5 the year Tom was out with a torn ACL right?

That being said, Belicheat has gone 11-5 without Brady. Rodgers or Brees would make our team a solid team, possibly a contender; Luck maybe. Brady and Manning could technically, but these are guys that are used to having things in place. However, our team has always put a young, inexperience, or mediocre QB behind a terrible line with no support from the defense or special teams. Our team is never going to win until they improve the o-line, defense, and special teams; and have these units help in the development of the QB.
