Jarvis impressed me on college tape too. Bowen should be backing him up. I'll stop right there.

Revised training camp schedule

Redskins.com | Training Camp Schedule

It's interesting to note that several teams, not the Skins at this point, have moved their afternoon practice tomorrow to after 4pm

In anticipation of CBA ratification>new league year start>free agents can practice I assume.

The skins did about an hour ago...830a is open walk-through and 4p is now open practice

I'm sure that's what it is. I mean today was what, essentially the 5th day of OTA's under the guise of "training camp?"

One thing that will be interesting is to see how sloppy pre-season/early regular season play is league-wide. The lack of preparation due to the lockout combined with all the new practice restrictions are sure to hold teams back as far as fluidity on both sides of the ball.

Shoot, meant to write including the Skins at this point

And yes it's definitely about the potential CBA ratification

I think so. Guess the Steelers players were raising a stink about the player conduct policy, but not sure that will go anywhere

Update on the Eagles' Mike Patterson....

"Adam Schefter
SalPal reports Mike Patterson has brain AVM (arteriovenous malformation), a tangle of blood vessels in skull; requires surgery or radiation."

Re: Training camp 2011 thread

SO I guess Beck and Kelly weren't really just trying to mess with people's heads...Beck actually took over #12.

The Redskins Blog | New Names, New Numbers, Same Faces

Although reading that article feels like I'm on the Onion...I'm not sure if I should be believing it or not.

Quote:
Nicknames and initials are usually used when you have a complicated name. Eventually though, you earn the right to be called what you want, and that’s exactly what two “new” Redskins have done.

OJ Atogwe has alerted the team and the media that he will no longer be called OJ. He would prefer his give name, Oshiomogho. Which is fine, considering his middle name is Isaac.

“Oshiomogho” is harder to work into a cheer though.

In other news, the Redskins signed back free agent linebacker HB Blades, but he is no longer HB. He is also going by his given name, which is Horatio. Horatio Blades. Horatio Benedict Blades, Jr., to be exact.

He already had one of the coolest names in all of football, but when you add in “Horatio” to the last name of “Blades,” he sound like a super-hero. Expectations just went up for you, Horatio.

On a seemingly clerical note, John Beck has changed his jersey number to 12.

But here’s the skinny on No. 12:

Ten out of the first 14 Super Bowl winning quarterbacks were No. 12. The greats, including Joe Namath, Terry Bradshaw, Ken Stabler, Roger Staubach, and Bob Griese all lifted the Lombardi Trophy wearing No. 12. More recently, Tom Brady and last year’s champion Aaron Rodgers are also No. 12.

And you thought it was just a clerical change in numbers.

In a corresponding move, Malcolm Kelly switched to No. 14. I guess if you want to be thrown the ball, you better defer your number to the guy throwing it.

Well, now that he has the same number as Brady, Stabler, Bradshaw and Rogers, we are certain to be the Champs!!!

While a nice bit of trivia, I find it more funny that Frerotte also had #12(thus trolling our own GusFrerotte).
