What's the price of a championship? Whatever it takes. Hindsight may prove this to be a terrible trade, but at least this shows that we're all in. Now off to watch some of last year's Baylor games...

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
This is a bit of a double edged sword for me. I love that we are going to get a quality player and individual like RG3. I do hope he can deliver for us. We have gone waaaaay too damn long without a true starting qb. As we know though things happen and sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. I sure hope for RG3 and our sake it does. Now we need to give him some more pieces to let him be successful.
Still not crazy that we gave up as much as we did, but it is what it is. Teams who are in dire need will do what it takes.

If he last until the 6th or 7th round I think that Terrance Gannaway would be a nice late round pickup.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
It had to be done. In today's NFL, a team must have a Franchise QB to go to the playoffs. The price was very high but I still can't criticize the Skins management for doing what had to be done.
The good news is that the Skins are in very good shape with the salary cap which means that they can be very active in Free Agency. They just need to make sure that they sign young FA's. Now, with RGIII, the Skins have a draw to attract FA's. The Skins still have six draft picks and I feel confident that they will do a good job of drafting players who can help. They may also make some trades of players for other players or for draft picks. I think the Skins will now be on a winning track sooner than before the trade. If RGIII becomes the star most of us think he will be and we're winning, no Redskins fan will give a hoot what he cost. |

Welcome RGIII. Hello playoffs. A lot to trade but it is worth it. It has been too long without a scoring threat of this magnitude. It will work out. |

39th pick (2012) and say the 16th(2013) pick and the 20th pick (2014).

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Every hour that goes by I feel more and more confident with this trade. The upside is so high and worst case scenario we have a competent quarterback for several years.
We've hit on Orakpo, Trent and Kerrigan. We have a good foundation of youth, it's time to get some free agents/build from within/and watch the most exciting quarterback in the league. We are once again a legitimate franchise.

Part of me wonders if we get RG3 or Luck ; would not surprise me if RG3 went first
