Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
I would be happy with a Thurmond signing. At the same time, it is possible he may be Josh Wilson 2.0. I think, based on what I have read on both, I would prefer Thurmond to Munnerlyn.
Heck, Thurmond and Browner would make me smile, but that may be too rich for the current FO.

Build through the draft more than FA. I am fine with not throwing big money around rite now or any money for that matter. Next year we get our full compliment of picks back. Lets see if Griff is or isnt "the man" this year. Lets see if Gruden can be a good HC. These are the two most important questions about our team rite now. Far more important than FA at the moment. Lets pay our own, and build stability. Lets hope and pray the new regime can evaluate talent. Than down the road we can plug holes through FA. Its a process that may or may not result in immediate success, but that has alot to do with our QB and our HC.

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
I know cheap and not overspending is important with alot of holes. But getting an impact player on defense, whether Safety, ILB, or DLine, should be attainable with our cap space. I think a Darryl Smith or Chris Clemons would add impact to our defense. Talk nickle corner or rotational D-lineman all you want, but I dont see impact player at this point out there.

I don't think this is a bad signing, but it's just another "meh" move; like all the other FA signings so far. I certainly haven't been impressed by our FO so far. We could have had Geoff Schawrtz or Jon Asamoah for a few million more a year than we gave Lavuao. We could have landed TJ Ward for around 5 million/year. We could have signed Alterraun Verner, one of the best young corners in the game, for less than 7 million/year. I won't mind that so much if we draft and develop well, and in turn, it translates into wins in January, but like KI Skins Fan said yesterday, "WHERE'S MY PONY?" |

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
This guy is garbage on the field. I hope he gets cut before we have to use him on the field. Wilson can cover better than Porter, he's famous for getting burnt.
Hope we're still planning on signing one of the Seattle corners at least.

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
as much as I hate the guy... I think a camp battle between them would be the best thing for the team.. see who plays better in camp and pre-season and go with them on the roster, best case scenario after signing a one hit wonder from 6 years or so ago... great move guys... not happy with it.

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
2 picks and a TD last year.
Started all 16 games. Former second rounder. 27 years old Tracy Porter, CB for the Oakland Raiders at NFL.com Porter was signed by the Oakland Raiders to a one-year contract on April 2, 2013 worth $2.5 million. In a game against the New York Giants on November 10, 2013, Porter became the first player in NFL history to return an interception for a touchdown against both Peyton and Eli Manning.
