You have a young man who could come back next year fully restored to health with all of the physical gifts with which he entered the NFL. If he is motivated to get better over the off-season (and he'd better be), he could come back with a much better understanding of the offense in which he is playing and improved mechanics. This is a player you want on your team.

Reluctantly, I have to admit that for RGIII to have a chance to become a very good QB for the Skins in the near future, the Skins need to retain Jay Gruden and let Robert develop in the same offense for the next few years.

I think Bruce Allen should make it crystal clear to both Jay and Robert that, like it or not, they will both be here next season, that it is still Jay's job to develop Robert, and it is still Robert's job to learn everything he possibly can about this offense and how to be a pocket passer. Robert should also be told that it is his responsibility to earn his way back on the field and that he is expected to do whatever it takes to make that happen by the opening game of 2015.
Hopefully cooler heads will prevail during the offseason. I do agree it's too early to give up on him, he's still under contract, so continue to develop him.

I don't understand why Cousins isn't even in the picture now. Yeah, he throws a lot of picks. Young pocket passer QBs tend to do that. Luck throws a lot of picks, for example. The team hasn't caught fire with McCoy since the Dallass game. Is Gruden through with Cousins as much as Griffin? Is it the talk that Cousins was throwing team mates under the bus too?

I would hope that would be up to the coach. In fact, I think it should be up to the coach whether or not Robert plays at all.

Well of course it is up to the Redskins and not the fans, lol. Maybe you meant up to the coach as opposed the owner. Either way I am just curious what your personal take would be. Since 2012 I dont think Robert gives anybody the best chance to win. Imo if he is the starter next year and he looks as inept as he has this year in week one than it is officially time for him to be done.

I said it should be up to the HC, meaning not the owner. If the coaches do all they can to help RGIII and he still is unable to perform well enough to start, then I think it's on Robert and the Redskins should part ways with him prior to the 2016 season.

He should be in the picture. He should be developed, as well.

I get he impression from some things I've read that Gruden thinks Kirk isn't mentally tough enough, by NFL standards. Gruden seems to be a hard man when it comes to QB's. I just hope that he doesn't write off either Robert or Kirk too soon.

This is the most disappointing thing I've seen all year.
The Hottest NFL WAG From Every Team | RantSports

They aren't ranked but it's clear we are in last place.

We need to bring Cooley back just to get this ranking up, he always was attached to a stunner.

Maybe it is a good thing to have a head coach that has high standards for his qb. Dalton seemed to do what Gruden needed him to do. Maybe our guys just really aren't the "right" guys. Not that I want to spend a first rounder on the qb position but we will be high enough in the second that if Gruden sees his guy there than get him and throw him in the mix.

Cousins is horrified of being hit. Gruden likes him best, but he shits his pants.

Based on the trade value estimates, none of the other team's coaches believe it.

Wow so you think he deserves an entire season to prove himself. Ok. I would rather not waste another year of my fandom on one players hopes and dreams but thats just me. I can get over the money i spent on his jersey in the name of the team. Lol

You can add this guy to that list. Honestly he just looks soooooo awkward trying. Very sad.

I think that's the biggest issue and I believe it as well. He's trying to HARD to be a NFL QB, and not taking the game natural. It forces him to be awkward on the field. He's thinking WA WAY WAY to much.

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

Gruden and Griffin need to part ways. Gruden obviously doesn't believe in him, Griffin could probably use a change of scenery. If both are back, Griffin will have to compete for not only the job, but maybe even a roster spot.
