Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
At this point if we could trade even for Drew Stanton of the Lions I would be happy. Even he shows more promise than our two guys. I think MS and BA have done just about everything right, but I have to think they are wishing things didn't go down with Donovan as they. Going from 2 SB Qbs to only one and two bums isn't an upgrade.

I'm just curious, who would you guys rather have at this point, Beck or Kerry Collins?

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
It wouldn't matter with that choice, might as well just flip a coin to get your starter. The quandry we are in almost makes you wish we still had JC.

JC still looks like a better option than what we have. Shanny has given any opportunity for one of our contenders to step it up, and you know what? Both have had ho hum preseasons. Last edited by GusFrerotte; 09-02-2011 at 09:26 PM. |

Funny, but not hard to believe some are down on Beck after last night. The last preseason game is as worthless as they come.

Matty, Beck looked decent his first go around, Rexy also. Since then nothing very special. After all the great moves Allen did in the FO to give us a nice pool of talent, for Shanny to risk it all on hoping a medicore QB will turn All Pro all of a sudden is a bit discomforting. |

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
What is being risked? The entire 2011 season and then some. Little Danny might not be as patient as we think he is. Do you think Danny is going to excuse another sub 500 season? Maybe, but I am worried he will revert back to his old ways.

We have improved at every position group on the field, INCLUDING quarterback. Don't expect Rex or Bex to be trotting onto the field at Aloha Stadium in February but they should be able to effectively get us through the season. If they fail, we draft a QB in 2012 and are able to plug him into a young and talented roster. This is pretty much a win-win. Don't be fooled by the national media clowns painting Snyder with an itchy trigger finger waiting to fire Shanny if they don't make the promised land. He knows this is the best coach and GM he's had since he bought the team and is smart enough not to screw it up.

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
Grossman is the better qb, but Beck will be the starter i would guess.
All off-season the Shanahans have been talking about how great Beck was in college, how highly they had him ranked coming out of college, and how they think hes a starting caliber qb. I dont really remember them saying anything about Grossman besides he's a vet and we know what he brings. |

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
I still contend they should be the first NFL team to have a legitimate QB time share like teams do at RB. Keep 'em guessing. They won't know what to do.

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
I think like Mark Schlereth said on ESPN. Shanahan likes being right, and he's gonna do everything he can to show the world he was right about John Beck.
