Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Rams have some interesting choices at 6. They can possibly trade up to Minnesota with their 6th and 2nd round pick to assure they get Blackmon. Or if a team wants to jump Miami to get Tannehill they can trade back and pick up a third 2nd round pick.

Don't think the colts will pass on luck, but if they do good for us.

As to the trade, love RGIII, and drinking the kool-aid I will say it is better to give up one pick a year rather than giving a ton of picks in any one draft. |

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
He will be fine. I sincerely believe that Kyle and Mike will put the best situation around this guy to succeed. What we get is a prolific QB with a great arm, great vision and good decision making capabilities, both on the field and off. Free Agency will be very important, and we will have to be very smart, and get people on the upswing instead of the downswing.
It will be challenging, but I think that 99% of Redskins fans are more optimistic today about the direction of this franchise than they were just yesterday. |

Brandon Brooks, G, Miami (Ohio) Brooks is a 6'5'', 346-pound mammoth offensive lineman, who after not being invited to the combine, is certainly gliding under the radar. However, he won't be overlooked come draft time. I admittedly have not seen a ton of his tape, but I know his pro day workout drew rave reviews earlier this week and can cite one credible draft outlet's scouting report. Sportsxchange.com had this to say about the Redhawks' star trenchman: Has good natural strength and raw power with the ability to be a mauler in the run game. Plays with a firm base with a stout anchor, holding his ground at the point of attack. Keeps his pad level low and flashes consistent leverage. Stays balanced and patient in his stance. Has overpowering upper body strength to overwhelm and eliminate defenders from the play. Jolts with his hands and shows a strong initial push. Quick off the snap and moves well for his size. Offers versatility with experience at left tackle and both guard spots. He'll be a likely option in the third or fourth round for a team looking for a versatile offensive lineman that seems to be NFL-ready. Seems like he has some Carl Nicks to him, doesn't he? Amini Silatolu, G, Midwestern State Silatolu is 6'3 5/8'' and weighs 320 pounds. Although he played at the FCS level in college, he wasn't missed by NFL scouts this season. He was at the combine in Indianapolis, but didn't necessarily stand out. Here's BuffaloBillsDraft.com's scouting report of this sleeper prospect: Silatolu is a devastating open field blocker…locates well on the move and buries his man into the ground…aggressive blocker who plays with a mean streak, loves to finish his blocks…deliver the blow to the defenders…has a strong punch…Will get out in front of screen passes and outside runs to lead block…strong build that is well distributed…good footwork which allows him to stay balanced…anchors well v. the bull rush from the DE Sounds like a real road-grader that will produce major holes in the running game for the next decade in the NFL. He could be picked as early as Round 2, but should fall into the third or fourth round. |

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Nothing about his description says he wouldn't be a good fit for our system unless you think quick off the snap and moves well for his size or has overwhelming strength to overwhelm and eliminate defenders from the play or offers versatility to play any position on the line in case of injury is not a good fit for a guard on this team.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
This from Walterfootball.com prior to the trade:
"I've been predicting a Robert Griffin trade here ever since the regular season concluded. Adam Schefter reported two weeks ago that the Rams will be dealing this selection. They won't remain in this spot. As intriguing as Matt Kalil might be, they have way too many holes on their roster. This pick is just way too valuable to hold on to. I had the Browns moving up here in a previous update, and they certainly could be the ones to land Robert Griffin. However, news broke this past week that Mike Holmgren is unwilling to part with the No. 22 pick to move up for Griffin. This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Seriously. You're not willing to give a mid-first-rounder for a franchise quarterback? Are you insane? Not only should Cleveland surrender Nos. 4 and 22; it should have to trade its 2013 first-rounder and other mid-round selections in addition to that. That's the price of a franchise quarterback. If the Browns don't understand that, then they'll never be successful, and their fans should just give up. Daniel Snyder will be desperate to land a franchise signal-caller this offseason. If he can't get Manning, he'll give the green light to outbid the Browns, Dolphins, Eagles and the other teams for Young Griff, who is perfect for Mike Shanahan's offense." I agree with Walt. The Redskins did the right thing. |

So what happens if we go 5-11 next year? Which is a real possibility. Then you've got a high pick going to the Rams.

We will go 7-9 as a minimum. I think we have a shot at a wild card.
