Suspects Beaten By Victims Charlottesville police say two men picked the wrong students to rob at gunpoint. The robbery suspects are behind bars, badly beaten by their victims. Both suspects have severe injuries to their faces, but the victims - we're told - are doing just fine. The pair who allegedly attempted an armed robbery had the tables turned on them Tuesday night, becoming victims themselves, so to speak. Yay! |

College student steals truck, kidnaps woman while reenacting Grand Theft Auto - NY Daily News
Zachary Burgess, a lacrosse player at Auburn University, allegedly stole a truck with a woman inside and smashed into nine cars trying to play the game Grand Theft Auto in ‘real life.’ A college lacrosse player is in hot water after allegedly going on a wild rampage to see what it's like playing Grand Theft Auto in real life. Zachary Burgess, 20, allegedly stole a truck and kidnapped a woman in Baton Rouge, La., before plowing the vehicle into nine parked cars and fleeing the scene. Angry passersby gave chase and pinned him down until cops arrived to arrest him at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. He then reportedly told officers he wanted to live out what players of the violent video game usually only experience from the comfort of their own couches. NBC33TV.com reports that the Auburn University freshman, in town to watch Auburn take on LSU, stole the truck after its owner left it running in a bar parking lot. With a woman inside, he tried to speed away — but was halted by other cars that were parked in his way. RELATED: 'GRAND THEFT AUTO V' MAKES $800M ON RELEASE DAY Undeterred, he tried to bump his way out, but ended up giving up and running off. Police arrived to find the truck abandoned and a group of people pinning him down. Burgess, from Hoover in Alabama, was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, kidnapping and nine counts of hit and run. He was released on Sunday after posting the $80,000 bond.

Three men arrested after accidental shooting during ‘Bigfoot hunt’
One for Lotus. The Rogers County, Oklahoma Sheriff’s Department arrested three men after one of them was accidentally shot. Authorities are still searching for the gun used in the shooting. According to Sheriff Scott Walton, the three men were hunting Bigfoot late Saturday night, when one of them was spooked by what he thought might be the legendary beast and fired his weapon, hitting his friend in the back. “When you start off with an explanation like that, do you believe anything after that?” Sheriff Walton said. |
