Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
I know that it is weak to blame the officials but I'm going to make an exception this time. IMO, poor officiating cost us this game because we should have been ahead by more than a TD going into the 4th Qtr. If we had been ahead at that time, I think RGIII and Morris would have kept us there.
The procedure call on Fred Davis in the 2nd Qtr was as nit-picking as it gets and it cost us a TD. Then, the phantom leg-whipping call on Tyler Palumbus cost us a 1st Down at the Giants 12-yard line. The supposed foul by Palumbus was far away from the play and he never even touched the defensive player. That's between 7-14 points taken away by poor officiating. Meanwhile, the Giants' RT had a choke hold on Kerrigan on pass plays all game long but that was never called. The outrageous call on Palumbus was the turning point of the game. I thought that Mike Shanahan should have given the officials an earful after the TD was called back just to give them something to think about for the rest of the game. If he had, perhaps the phantom foul on Palumbus wouldn't have been called.

Also, I should add that letting the Giants go 8-12 on 3rd down was absurd. You gotta score TDs though. Last week a big reason we won was that the Vikings settled for FGs. This past weekend we did

The leg whip, eh, he did stick his leg up as he rolled. That's going to be called when the refs see it. It wasn't totally egregious but I can understand that one. |

But really, I don't think it's related to Raheem. The only thing I guess I'd put on him is he vouched for Tanard Jackson. But that's more so Tanard letting him down I suppose

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Fair enough. I think I'll just assume Raheem won't be back as the secondary coach next year. Of course, that could mean he might get promoted to d-coordinator and we're going back to a 4-3. But either way, it won't affect this season, so I'm going to forget about the issue until after the season is over.

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
I thought it was terrible honestly. Not bad enough to warrant a call. It's one of those things they never call unless it is egregious or clearly affected the play. It was neither. But in the end we didn't lose because of that specifically. 4 TOs isn't good enough to get it done.

FS and SS. Atogwe veteran former pro bowler at FS and Landry a quality SS. this year we tried to replace them with jackson and merriweather who I consider to be downgrades but decent enough but they both have not seen the field.
