Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
According to Elliot on DC101 Bears fans are freaking out about hiring a CFL coach. I guess we'll see how it works out. And a 4 am press release announcing the hiring? Clearly they are unconcerned with how people are going perceive the news.

Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Anyone who wins two Grey Cups and has a distinguished record besides is definitely worth a shot.

SS .... Doesn't seem to be much interest in Kyle .
Have you heard anything otherwise. Thought he was going to be a hot candidate. Hope he stays. So I guess this is a good thing.

Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Yeah they were naming off his accolades as a QB coach and OC while in the NFL and the guy pretty much produced QB's with great stats that were winners everywhere he went.

I do agree with your thought that he "deserves a shot" - as opposed to others here who seem to think the Bears made some sort of great hire. Hey, everyone deserves a shot, right? Still, the Bears fired Lovie Smith for this guy, and I view that as a major downgrade.

Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
I agree. What his resume was as an OC throughout the NFL, speaks for itself. I think it'll work out great for him, the bears and jay cutler (hopefully Brandon Marshall won't bitch and whine at him like in the past with new HCs)

You should really do more research on Trestman. You're missing a lot

Edit: as Arizona OC they went to the playoffs for the first time since 1982, and look at what he did in 2002 with Oakland as their OC. Everywhere the guy goes there is success and offensive records are broken. He won a bowl game with NC State as their OC. This is a great hire. Edit: also BHA that list is a list of guys he prepared for the draft. Prepped for the combines. So - the fact that they were pretty much busts as first round picks sort of speaks to his genius. I mean somehow he made them look goid enough for teams to buy in. He was not their coach. Look at the QB's he coached. Seems to me that when he is around a qb they shine. Whether for the combine or for the season. Last edited by punch it in; 01-16-2013 at 12:16 PM. |
