Lovie is like the sixth best coach on that list.

And he's the only one remotely qualified for the job. Everyone else is a gamble with an unproven and/or negative track record at the nfl level.

Only if you don't know anything about them.

Won 11 games in 2010 and 2011.

Named Griffin his starter after one practice.

He didn't want griffin to start this year. Schedter indicated he'd want to have a competition at the position if he were retained next year.... But that Snyder wouldn't let him. Shanahan wisely has seen enough of rg3 to know he doesn't deserve to be the unquestioned starter. If I had to choose between Shanahan and rg3, I'd choose the coach. He inherited a mess from zorn and Cerrato and then got stuck with 36MM in cap penalties that limited his ability to improve the team. Rg3 has trade value. I'd trade him and roll with cousins and see what Shanahan can do with a full compliment of draft picks and a ton of cap space to finally build the team he wants.

Two completely different cases.

Two similarities: consistent player development and winning football teams.

I wouldn't mind seeing a coaching staff comprised of Whisenhunt, Bowles and Grimm.

I truly find it astonishing that there is anyone left defending Shanahan. I try to find something he does well... I cannot.

I wouldn't listen to anything that Schefter has to say about Shanahan.

The first bold is just moronic and the second bold is Shanahan's fault and really has little to nothing to do with Zorn. Not to mention the fact that the roster has been COMPLETELY turned over in the FOUR years that Shanahan has been coach.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.
