The power of branding and social media is huge right now.



All these seminars I go to all say the same thing - to win people over, spoon feed them with simple thoughts. If you cant put it on a bumper sticker, you have not reduced it to its simplest most elementary level. If you speak in very simple terms and very simple thoughts, the human brain accepts what is said as true and stays on auto pilot.



The minute you start using big words or require a listener's brain to link thoughts together to arrive at a not-simple thought, that is the minute you have just awoken the listener's brain and now that brain will critically question everything you will say .. and if what you are now saying is not consistent with the listener's pre-established thought board ... you are in trouble, you have now lost the listener.



You have to know your audience. Then you have to stay on code.



Trump is just repeating red meat bumper sticker thoughts and sleep walking a large portion of republicans who hate RINOs. His new bumper sticker the past few weeks has been "you're so PC". I dont even know if Trump has a platform idea outside "build a wall". It doesnt matter. He stays on code as someone outside the establishment and he wins every voter who hates the government. His supporters literally wear tin foil hats.



Cruz is trying to to appeal to the slightly more awake republican voters by staying on code re. "the war against christianity", "the war against life (abortion)" and "the war against the 2A". He is just a layer or two less simple then trump.

John Kasich suspended his campaign, and Ted Cruz dropped out last night. It is now likely that Donald Trump will clinch the Republican nomination and move on to the general election.

Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, however, is still hanging on in his battle against frontrunner Hillary Clinton. Sanders, who won the Democratic primary in Indiana last night, celebrated by tweeting “The political revolution wins!” to his two million followers.

Former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair has been paying close attention to the Trump and Sanders races and has some thoughts on the popularity of the unconventional candidates.

“There are insurgent movements to the right and the left that are very populist, very charged with emotion. They’ve come out of people’s anger—they feel that the system isn’t responding to their needs,” he says.
It’s a global phenomenon, according to Blair. “This is going on in the U.S. with Donald Trump on the one side and Bernie Sanders on the other side, but frankly it’s happening all over Europe,” he says. As wealth stratification rises in the U.S. and through Europe, Blair says the middle class feels underrepresented by government. Nontraditional politicians are picking up on that anger and using it to boost their campaigns, but Blair warns that “anger and answers are two different things, and ultimately we need answers.” Blair worries that the popularity of populist politicians will lead to policy that is harmful to the U.S.

Isolationism would be a disaster for the West, Blair says. “If you start shutting down free trade, you’re not going to create new jobs. You may think you are, but you’re not,” he says. Trump has spoken out against trade agreements such as NAFTA and plans to tighten immigration policy.

Blair says the next U.S. president must be fully engaged in world affairs. “There are new powers arising, there are big challenges around geopolitics, and I want to see an America that’s strong and engaged and providing leadership.”

Centrist politicians, he adds, “need to get their mojo back.” Blair believes they come across as stale and out-of-date to disgruntled voters. Candidates, he says, can no longer have a “this is complicated, leave it to us,” attitude.

He mentions the wealth disparency, yet then turns around and champions for "free trade". Is this guy a complete fucking moron? Does he understand the ramifications of NAFTA or what any other free trade agreements will do? It'll crush middle class families even more and just divide that gap between the rich and poor even greater. Blair is a corporate shill much like the lot of them.

Centrists don't need their mojo back. They need to stop ignoring the people and start representing them instead of the corporate/wealthy donors that give to their campaign.
