Just because you can blame Heinicke doesn't mean you can't blame Turner. Turner's playbook is schizophrenic.

Exactly. This coaching staff needs to know that they have a limited QB and should adjust to call the game that way. It is unfuckingreasonable to have so many players that can take a slant, a screen, or a sweep for gain a lot of yards, and depend on a noodle arm QB to make deep passes he just can't make.

And TH needs to make those easy throws. He needs to know he's a game manager and can't be missing D. Carter for a potential TD on the first drive (after the defense gets a turn over). He needs to hit AG or JD on check downs. And needs to manage the offense to a TD when in the red zone.

Believing in TH has been THE biggest case of Ashburn syndrome this fan base has had. We're so thirsty for a QB, that we're willing to drink muddy piss water.

Nobody arguing TH playing like crap, but is Turner not responsible for going full shotgun and pass happy when Gibson is running well?

Defense has been on the field 40+ minutes, jet sweeps, and edge runs would make a lot of sense - instead putting Heinicke in bad position with bad calls.

After this game I would cut Colins, McCain and Jackson, call Houston and try to get Jimmy Moreland back. Cut JDR and promote Sam Mills Jr. as DC.

Re: WFT - Saints GameDay thread

We are so so very close to being 0-5, and honestly that seems to be about how good we are. But that is what RR teams do more seasons than not. They lose. Did we think Carolina kicked his ass to the curb because he was a good coach?

Everything is basically out of shotgun.

In college they do it so QBs can see the field better, don’t have to worry about dropping back etc … it’s training wheels for QBs

Don't get me wrong, I'm aware why it's routinely done but I don't particularly like it happening so often.

Look at the D laying down like a cheap prostitute.

You protect a QB by not letting them pass the ball all the time. In R. Wilson's first two seasons or so, Seattle's coaching staff design their entire gamebook on the run and limited what Wilson could do. It's not that difficult to do and we have the players to design a run first, short pass offense.

The difference was Seattle had a much better defense than we do. I think Turner is calling the game the way he is cause he knows he has to score points. But yeah he is a bit too pass happy with the TH. You simply can not drop him back a bunch and not expect some turnovers.
