Re: Name Reveal 2.2.22
I was born in 1969. My Dad was a huge Skins fan, and gave me and my brothers two choices growing up. Be a Skins fan, or, don't watch football. It was an easy choice. Growing up in Louisville meant that when the Skins were actually ON TV, they were special days. It also meant ALWAYS getting Dallas games. Which may be why my hate of the Cowboys is as strong as my love of the Redskins. I vaguely remember the Kilmer-Theisman QB battle as my earliest Skins memory. But the Joe Gibbs era was when the hook was set in me. What a glorious decade plus 1. Man ... that was 30 freakin' years ago. Maybe it's time to call it. Just stick to fantasy football, and hating the Cowboys. |

In 2nd grade, our school day included "Centers" which was kind of crafts mixed with regular learning (it was still the Hippie era). We had a sewing center and all of us guys made Redskins pillows shaped like helmets. Larry Brown, Roy Jefferson, Jerry Smith, Chris Hanburger. The arrival of Theismann and Riggins. The hiring of Joe Gibbs and so on. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die."

Some people who claim the team has hit rock bottom because of the name change, should be forced to watch the Spurrier and Zorn seasons on repeat.

Re: Name Reveal 2.2.22
I watched that raiders game last night .. I realized I’m more of a fan of football in general than any one disfunctional team .. I am finding myself pulling for coaches and players .. other than Washington/Va I have no Ties to any city .. I can’t stand cowboys,giants,Eagles.. and was stoked when raiders moved to Vegas!

Las Vegas is a natural home for the Raiders. It is the only example of a franchise moving I can think of that I think most people are ok with, while other moves (Chargers from San Diego for example) are looked down on. And that stadium is sweet. Better than the Rams/Chargers (although that is nice). Better than Jerry's world. Better than the Falcons. The only other "new" stadium that I think compares is the Vikings. |

Doesn’t matter what the name is. Win games and people will support you.

Win. Bottom line is win. But this team will never win until it lucks itself into a Joe Burrow. ---------------- Anybody notice the Lions home game week 18? They won 2 games all year, worse then us and their fans were there and into it. Cheering and rooting for their team. How do the Lions have that? Odd |

Id love something like that. Rent a hotel room, gamble and eat good saturday night, wake up sunday a short walk to the stadium. Lions fans love their loveable losers. Skins and their fans .. were losers losers. We do nothing right. How do you fuck up the QB situation as much as we have? Trade 3 1st round picks for a QB who wins the OROY .. only to have that fall apart. Have a good QB in Cousins ... only to have Bruce Allen's drunk ass fuck up any notion of normal contract negotiations. Have an owner who forces the team to draft a QB from his son's high school even though no one in the scouting dept had him as a 1st rounder .. Then pay a 40 year old journeyman 10M to break a god damn hip 1 quarter into week 1 We literally have the worst QB depth chart in the league. Not even close. ----------------- Lions have new stadium complex and no. 2 overall pick Skins have no stadium deal in sight, an entrenched asshole owner and the no. 11 pick |
