Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
Its funny cause I never thought JC was much of a game manager, he always seemed lost out there. It also amazed me that for a guy that played QB his whole life he had 0 pocket awareness.
I think the Skins are better coached and schemed than they have been in years but my bigests concern with Shanny is that he has never done anything with with with a QB not named Elway. |

Newton is lighting it up and Dalton has been very effective... leading the Bengals to a 4-2 record. Ponder looked decent in preseason as well... can't judge this class yet, really, but they aren't terrible I know that and I know there is at least 2 that are better than what we have now. Kerrigan was the right choice... but right now, I think I'd take Dalton over Hankerson, Gomes, and Hurd combined.... that's just me.

Absolutely agree. Hard to argue with one of, if not the best, drafts we've had in years. And as you mention, by all accounts this years QB class should be much better. I think the FO did an excellent job and had the foresight to look ahead to next years class.

Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
What was very clear to me was on one play where Beck looked to his left where a couple routes were going, then whipped his head to the right side of the field and through an incomplete pass.
It was the first time i've felt the QB has made a progression all year. |

Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
yes, beck sure did look alot more poised and cerebral than grossman, as well as heaps more mobile than fat boy. I dunno, Ive been calling for him for the past 3 weeks, but I think I truly believe that shanahan made a HUGE mistake starting grossman over beck. It put beck 4 weeks behind the power curve, but I guess being 3-2 after the grossman factor can't be looked at as a loss, it seems that lady luck was on her knees for us lately. We are truly lucky to have a winning record. Maybe Beck can show more poise back there, and start to make some plays. If he is going to show he can succeed in this league, he needs to show it in the red zone. If he can bump up our production down there a bit and limit the turnovers, this season can still be salvageable, and we could contend for the division still. If Shanahan stays with grossman, I will not watch one more washington redskin game until the guy gets benched again or cut. I just don't have the intestinal fortitude to withstand watching Grossman try to play the quarterback position any longer. If he stays with Rex, then his ego is WAY bigger than anyone thought. We will see.

Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
9 int's in 5 games.......that is all that needs to be said. Lost by 7 points with 4 int's easily could've been a game we won.

Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
jeez, i feel sick to my stomach thinking that after the first week I was thinking to myself that Mike Shanahan might have been onto something with rex grossman. my god is hindsight 20 20.

Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
I don't think he will. Hard to imagine a worse game than the one Grossman played today.
