Smith was one of the worst grades I just put up. It's polumbus who's better than him..

Re: 2012 redskins

Interior lineman don't face the same caliber of pass rushers as the tackles do, but interesting info regardless.

Re: 2012 redskins

I don't think Smith is quite ready for the starter role just yet. I would give him another year or two on the bench as a backup before I start him going into a season.

Re: 2012 redskins

Just from watching the games Polumbus passed the eye test a few times though he struggled with some of the top pass rushers when they moved to his side. I remember Ware having a go at him more then a few times.

Re: 2012 redskins

Polumbus was/is really awful. It's not like we have a recent history of strong RT play, so I understand why he would pass the eye test for some. He looks like a starter out there!

(that's not a compliment)

Anybody else like David Molk center from Michigan with one of our 4th round picks.

I don't think he's the best C in the draft, but if you can get him in the 4th round, that'd seem like a smart use of a pick.

Smith and Polumbus were both absolutely dreadful. I can't say who's worse between the two, but at least Smith has some potential I guess.

Re: 2012 redskins

Smith went against Pierre-Paul, Sack leader Jared Allen and Trent cole. He gave up 2 sacks and held his own after a few shaky starts. The kid is got a future and the only way to get better which he did, is to play him.

Re: 2012 redskins

honestly both smith and polumbus were bad, but in terms of what I saw, I thought Polumbus looked better. I still would draft a RT though, a lot of good ones are coming out.

Well, if don't get DeCastro (because we didn't get RGIII) then the backup plan is Jonathan Martin T also from Stanford.

Look man, I love DeCastro, I think he's a great player, but this line's weakness is Tackle, so Martin is more likely, I don't see us going guard until atleast 3rd round.

Yes and no, both G and T need shoring. When you have the best G prospect since Hutchinson you go for him, not only that but he's a pulling guard. have you seen him play? The guy is fantastic, the running game would be awesome, which opens the passing game. Smith can play even though you think, Shanahan does so do many writers out there.

Hahaha Yes! Of Course I have seen him play! I watched him against Oregon, USC, and OK St, he was the same consistent player against all guys. I just feel like he's the same case as say a Trent Richardson; Great player, but not a Major need like QB, CB, ILB, Tackle, WR.
