Laron has done the team no favors...ever. No point in extending him one.

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
Seems like the Jets and EAGLES are the strongest contenders for LaRon now. Makes me sick...either team.
However, since he still has not had surgery for some insane reason, I don't think we have to worry about him doing much damage against us, but seeing him in an Eagles uniform will make me puke. He was one of my favorite current Skins.

Bears are reportedly interested too.
Just shows how close the line between great and a disaster can be in the NFL. Area 51 could have been so great...if only.

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
Saying LL was destined to be a bust is highly overrated. During the half a season that Landry and Taylor played together our secondary was playing amazing. With Landry patrolling the box Taylor was able to become the ballhawking safety we all envisioned (5 picks in the first half of 07) and we were all talking about how we were set at the safety position for years to come.
08 and 09 Landry fell off when they tried to move him to FS and he struggled to adjust, mainly because he's not a guy you can trust in space. But when Haslett joined the Skins with Shanny in 2010, the first half of 2010 saw Landry moved back to SS where he once again started balling his ass off before he got injured, and ever since then he's never been the same player. He definitely has the potential to be a playmaker in this defense, all we have to do is put him in a position to succeed (aka in the box SS), minimize how often he gets left alone in coverage, and make sure that he's completely healthy.

It's also the reason why the Patriots just up and released their 2 time pro-bowl safety Brandon Meriweather with no real backup in place. Stats analysis on Meriweather's decline - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

The Laron Landry that I saw play for the last 4 seasons in Washington was terrible in coverage and was beaten deep far too often. He would make one or two highlight reel hits but also give up a TD or two and a bunch of first down catches per game. That is not my definition of a guy "balling his ass off"...

I find it funny when old people use the younger gen's slang. Also did you read my entire post? I get the feeling if you had you probably wouldn't accuse me of saying Landry was a baller his entire time here.

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
So I haven't really been keeping up with the Landry news. What chance do we all think Landry has of resigning with the skins? And if that percentage is low, do we have a backup plan at safety?
