I believe you're going to be right/I hope your right. Then again, we must hope Barkley chooses to take the money and not stay another year on a team that could possibly be in the national championship and he could win the heisman, and he will be the number 1 overall pick.

Good read! I guess maybe our FO/coaching staff used their foresight to suck for the upcoming draft??!!

If we get the 3rd pick then yes we would have a decent chance at moving to number 1.. Indy could move to 3 am still draft Barkley and add picks at that. Or we just stay at 3 and take Barkley because STL won't draft a QB

True....but I really don't see that much difference between Luck and Barkley. Yes Luck is better ... But is it worth losing picks to get Luck when we can still get a great prospect like Barkley?? Hmmm. Well one thing is for sure this will be one of the most exciting offseasons the Redskin will have in a long time.

Indy didn't suck for Luck all season long to trade out of the #1 spot. We're not getting Luck.

Exactly, not gonna happen and really, I'm fine with that. I don't think the gap between Luck and Barkley is so significant that we're looking at a major dropoff. That being said, I want RGIII over Barkley. I think Barkley has the potential to be a good QB but RGIII has the potential to be special. He adds an element we've never had at the position and that's what I'm looking for.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

NE- Loss
@ NYG- Loss
Minn at home- Winable game
@ Phili - Loss

I think we might win 1 more game. 5 wins for the season tops IMO. Our best O-lineman and our best recieving threat...gone.

Minny will show up against us.. They don't need a quarterback.

I don't see us drafting 3rd. I think we will lose all games with the exception of Minny going either way at this point, but I can see us winning if ALL DAY is out of the line-up still.

Right now there are 4 teams with a worse record, could be 5 if San Diego loses. And we have 5 other teams tied with our record. The chances we get a 3rd overall pick are very slim IMO. As I posted earlier, I think we are in the 5-7 range depending on tie breakers (4-6 if we lose out). We could still trade up, but I don't see it. As I'm sure Luck is going #1 overall, I think there is a chance Barkley or RGIII is still there in that window, but if not we can move up a spot or two to get him and not give up as much as moving to #1 overall. That's the smarter move to me.

I'll agree with you with a couple of them and disagree on the others...

NE- Loss
NYG- Loss
Minn- ? I could see the Skins winning.
Phili- ? they played horrible on Mon. I could see a win against Young.

I felt the Skins could beat the Jets and they almost did. Except for their failure in the 4th quarter.

Yes, chances are we won't end up picking 3rd. We could lose out though and I won't begin to analze SOS.

I'm still not sure Indi will take Luck. They may trade that pick if PM's neck is ok. Stockpile some picks and stick w/ Manning for 4-5 more years. They need the help in the form of draft picks. So, either we trade up to get Luck or he'll be gone. We should be in a good position though to get the 2nd or 3rd QB in the draft who should be very good.

Can't believe it's December and I'm thinking about the draft. I am rooting for all the teams that suck to win though.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)

I thought I heard we were sitting in 4th place right now if the draft was to start now. The NFL network has us the 5th worst team but thats not counting strength of schedule. But the other teams are a lot worse ie;

Colts- 0-11
Rams- 2-10
Vikes- 2-10
Jaguars- 3-8
Redskins- 4-8

All the 4-8 teams are

Redskins
Buccaneers
Eagles
Dolphins
Browns
Panthers

We will see what happens tonight cause the Jags are 3-8 and we need for them to win and the Chargers are 4-7. Root for the Jags.

Easier said than done. I know the contract implications are not as bad now with the new CBA, but you still have to look at it from the angle of how much you will have to give up draft pick, and maybe player, wise in trading for the #1 overall first pick. I think teams aren't all going to be jumping right in to hand over every draft pick they have just to get Luck. No with Barkley and RGIII right behind him.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)

Minn should be hungry for a win after losing the division rival Lions and getting slammed by the Saints. That said I don't see how we could pick higher than 4th overall, and like others mentioned it could be as low as 8th.

1-5 in the division ad 4-12 overall. Skins will draft 3 or 4 in 2012
