Thomas played more like a 'money' LB/NB that plays in the box and matches up 1-on-1 vs a TE, RB or Slot player. Quote:
I agree with you that the safety class is strong. I like all of the following safeties: I think Amerson has the skillset to be an NFL CB. I like most of the S in the class tho. My favorite prospects are: Reid, Elam, Phillip Thomas, TJ McDonald, Swearinger, Duke Williams and Rashard Hall. I view those guys as making the easiest transition to NFL FS. But I like these guys too: Vaccaro, Cyprien and Rambo but I view them more as SS types. |

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
For those who said draft Nick Florence, per rotoworld
Baylor QB Nick Florence will not pursue a career in the NFL. "I've decided to hang up my cleats and finish my master’s in December," Florence said. "My wife and I have spent the last one and a half months talking about it, and it all came down to what we wanted in life, and it didn't include playing football." It is an interesting choice, since far worse players have retired before entering the NFL, but it is refreshing to see this kind of life choice made prior to the draft.

If all the above are facts as you present them to be then I don't see room for discussion. HTTR (needless to say I disagree) |

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Maybe he values being with his family on a regular basis instead of in the film room, weight room, trainer's room, bus, airplane and hotel all the time.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Vontaze had first round talent, Mathieu was not a first round prospect even before getting kicked off. He was a second round prospect that struggles in man to man, lacks elite speed and lacks size. But he should be available in the later rounds and would definitely be worth taking by then.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
True that, maybe he is stable financially and used football to pay for school and dreamed of pursuing another career.
