You mean people pull facts from history at share it with people who have thier head burried so deep in the sand they can't see what's going on? Allen's record speaks for itself. Under 500. he's no Messiah. Everyone WANTS him to be, but there's nothing in his record to suggest that he's going to be a "real GM" here or that he will bring any measure of success to this team.

One more thing, until Gruden removes all doubt and releases a statement saying he's not interested, not in the running, and hasn't been contacted, he's a candidate in my opinion.

Gruden could end the speculation very easily. His silence speaks volumes.

So by that logic, this team has been way below your standards for years. Yet you're complaining when the Dan is actually manning up and at least trying to go in a different direction?

I've pissed on The Dan and spewed hatred at the man for many a day. This day wasn't one of the them.

A character in Snatch said, "Don't piss in my bucket and tell me its raining." By all apperanaces, that's exactly whats happening here. Snyder fired one yes-man and hired another. Allen has never been a "real" GM before. He's only been a yes man. If Snyder wanted a real GM, he wouldnt have hired Allen. Snyder has lead a dysfunctional franchise for so long, he doesn't deserve us to suddenly beleive he has changed now. He doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Time will tell, but i'm remaining skeptical until proven otherwise.
You're entitled to your opinion...however you have a tendency to present your opinions as facts here. I think everyone should be in a wait and see mode. But you are definitely going out of your way to present "information" to "prove" your point. And I put these words in quotations because you have brought information that is mediocre at best to prove your point.

Allen only gets credit for his 5 years as a General Manager. In those five years, Tampa Bay posted a record under .500, won the division twice, and lost in the wild card round both times.

I mean I think in terms of the players that we actually take, we take pretty good players with the picks we have, we just at times dont focus on the right positions. Would he have had alot of input in what positions we have gone over the last few years?
I know this post was made a lot earlier in the thread but in regard to Scott Campbell, I heard that a lot of our late draft picks were to be credited to him. Of course at the same time we drafted no OL, so I take that with a grain of salt.

Still, it hasn't even been a day. Give it time.

Division titles and 1 Super Bowl appearance are nothing? Shit, this is worst than the time you proposed a straight trade between Campbell and Chris Simms.

What about his record in Oakland? You are conveniently not mentioning that in your posts.

Allen didn't make the decisions in Tampa. Gruden did. Allen was just a yes man with a GM title. And his record was under .500.

A "real GM" would be what we - the fans - have been screaming for for years - a guy who would run the football operation and not just be Snyder's yes man. Don't beleive the BS from the press conference. Snyder and/or our new HC will be pulling all the strings. Allen is just a figurehead with connections to the team that Snyder's using to pacify the fanbase.

Well let's remember that he did field some very good teams in Oakland when he was there and won NFL executive of the year in 02. Would he have been my first choice? No. But let's give the guy a chance. And let's remember that every GM misses on draft picks.

According to BHA that didn't exist.

Only thing that worries me about Gruden is that fact that he runs a VERY complicated system. I mean it's still the WCO, but as I said before he definitely runs one of the more complex schemes in the league. Weather or not he's more complicated then Al Saunders remains to be seen.
