Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins
Schefter just shut up:
Redskins say interviews with Roman and Fangio weren’t scheduled | ProFootballTalk It’s possible that there was a misunderstanding. It’s also possible that someone who currently works for the Redskins — or who until very recently worked for the Redskins — embellished, exaggerated, and/or fabricated the snafu, out of disgruntlement. The latter may be more likely, given that the 49ers told the Washington Post that they have no concerns about the manner in which the situation was handled.

I'd trust Schefter before I would Tony Wyllie. If it is true, it's bush league. ps. if you are implying somehow Shanny fed him this info, how in the fuck would he know who they were interviewing for HIS old job?

Also the 49ers have came out and denied the rumor, in this case I believe Tony Wyllie. This is a non-issue and BS story. |

If Schefter is reporting something, it's something from a legit source. Legit source being key here, and I doubt that source is any former coaches that have no knowledge on the situation.

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins
There are holdover coaches on staff from the Shanahan regime, I would imagine there's a rat in the ship.

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins
Bengals fans are acting like Hue Jackson is an upgrade for them. Zimmer >>>>>Haslett. Bevell, Quinn, Wisenhunt, Fangio, Roman > Gruden.
Please prove me wrong, skins. |

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins
The skins should look back to the Redskins of the 80's and build a physical D and OL just the 49ers.

Just like every team that won a playoff game this year. There was a stat where the team that was able to run the ball won the game. The line of scrimmage is where games are still won.

Better Coordinators. Yes. Good Coordinators do not always make the best head coaches. And Good Coaches a lot of the time are mediocre coordinators.

here's hoping the skins see qualities in Gruden you don't see just from the cordinator side of things. |

Look at Norv Turner or Wade Phillips. Great coordinators; shitty head coaches.

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins
For the people that voted that Gruden was a bad hire, can they suggest who they would've rather the Skins hire and why?
Just cuz I'm curious.

I like the hire, I just don't love it. There were better choices out there. There are already signs of cronyism. |
