Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Has anybody seen anything special from preston smith? I haven't seen him do much in the first 10 game. I don't want to be critical of his play, but i haven't seen him do much. I thought he would be the start by now and trent murphy would be the backup.

I've been watching him. No explosiveness at all coming off the edge.

Smith should not have been drafted as an OLB because he is too slow for that position in the NFL. The Skins had him lose weight to play OLB. I think they should have him gain weight to play DT.

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Smith doesn't look like a impact but he's a rookie let's wait until after 2016 to see.. we definitely need a pass rusher next yr

Pass rusher, cb, s, mlb, rb, c. Those would be my targets in FA and the draft.

I don't know, but I think that if Culliver's penalty had happened to the Patriots, every sports outlet would be talking about it.

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Horrible call, should've been 21-14, and could have changed the game.
BUT sh$$t happens. Bad calls happen. Bad penalties happen. Good teams don't complain when something goes wrong, and throw a hissy fit to the media claiming prejudice. Really? The official was pissed off about a team name so he called a penalty? Say wha?? - Breeland had a chance for the INT in the endzone, he dropped it. - We had tons of chances to stop them with 1st and 20, 2nd and 22.. We didnt. - We allowed 5 touchdowns in ~35 minutes of play. - We committed 5 fumbles, and our top two RB ran for zero yards. Why are we talking about a penalty when there are a thousand reasons that are entirely our fault that we lost. |

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
The Panthers would have won without the terrible officiating.
That said, Boger (Booger) would have been booed and shamed out of the NFL in mid-season if he had been a replacement NFL ref. He has always been horrible. |

Even though I disagree with the call against Culliver, its a non issue if they call the 4 or 5 times that the panthers did it. I know Jordan Reed had the same kind of hit in the first quarter, where he is still considered in the defenseless phase. Garcon had several of the same thing. Call any one of the 4 or 5, and they can claim that it went both ways, but they didnt. If its such a dangerous play, then why the one time we did it, its a penalty but the multiple times they did it... nothing. |

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Two penalties that stick out the most that would have changed the momentum of the game.
The culliver one Then the next drive (after three bad calls in the end zone including not getting the call against cocthery when he tried to catch a ball after stepping out of the back of the endzone) The holding call on Reed the next series.

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Watching it at a bar, so I couldn't hear much and missed some plays, but it looks like the team straight up gave up after those two big calls. There was actually a ton of intensity up until the phantom Reed holding call. It was like the team just straight quit. I agree, good teams don't do that, but damn, the effort just went to 1% and EVERYONE KNOWS you have to give 110%!

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
I could stomach the loss if we were competitive! i am starting to believe that Gruden is not the answer at all. Cousins actually did not play bad under the circumstances..NO RUNNING GAME..NO BLOCKING..it was all on him. Our D is horrible..i blame that on the D coordinator..He needs to be fired.
