That would buy time to see if he ever develops or if you can find someone else.

8-7-1 is still a good step for us. Back to back over .500.

SM, time to get to work on defense. It doesn't even matter what position you sign a guy or draft a guy, we need help every where.

Cousins, please learn to not be a chucker. CHECK DOWNS ARE OK, CHECK DOWNS ARE OK, CHECK DOWNS ARE OK. THROWING THE BALL AWAY IS OK, THROWING THE BALL AWAY IS OK, THROWING THE BALL AWAY IS OK!!!!

You just chucked away our season. And you're not worth anywhere near 25 million so please don't ask for it.

He's a good starting qb but proved today that he doesn't deserve elite qb money. Signing him is the only option though.

Capt Kirk is going to get elite QB cash. If The Redskins don't pay him then another team, gladly, will.

If a team will pay him that money then you let him go. Just because another team will make a mistake doesn't mean you should: See Houston.

You don't pay a 19 million QB 25 million dollars. You don't do that in any business.

He's not a young rookie. This could be the best season he'll have, and it wasn't enough, especially in the big games against Carolina or New York.

Really?
Then who is our quarterback next year?

Colt McCoy, Nate Suffield, another draft pick, or cheaper free agent. There are lots of options while we keep working on building the rest of the roster with the 25 million you didn't spend on him. Do we just give Cousins whatever he asks for even if his play doesn't warrant it? He isn't worth anymore than he's making this year. I'll give him a bonus million. 20 million per year is "all" I would offer. Not a dollar more. If he can't make due or get over his pride and take it, then that's on him. 5 years, 100 million sounds like a fair contract for both sides.

Never said I want us to get rid of Kirk. He is the sole reason we got this far, but if he breaks the team's bank for staying, what good will it do keeping him? The D needs just about a complete overhaul, half the o linemen are really backups, same with most of our Dbs. If Scott really works some magic we can have a solid team in 2 more seasons, and if he can't work that fast, Kirk will be finishing his next contract out before a proper team is built.

Then franchise him and trade him to SF for 2 1st round picks and then some more. We will have over 60 million in cap space if that was to happen and could beef up our D. If his agent wants 20 million or more then I would consider doing what I mentioned at the beginning.

True, if they have a running game they do not need KC to have a game winning drive. ..... everyone here talks about how great the O line is, yet 3rd down and two was always a passing down. And the red zone offense needed a running game as well.

We had a good pass blocking line, bad run blocking because the interior was weak.

... that's why I said trading him later would be an option because the other team would also gladly assume the existing contract.
