I don't blame him for taking another offer, but I also don't have any sympathy for the guy... look at his career numbers. They were terrible until Gregg Williams put him into a system and whipped him into shape. Gibbs refers to him as a "Core Redskin" and then he bolts to the G-Strings for an offer that wasn't much better than what we were offering. And why? Because he had one great season in the middle of a defense that was making who-dats into Pro Bowlers? Pierce didn't exactly light the world on fire in NY, and Lemar Marshall did just fine in his stead. Lemar Marshall, a guy widely considered to be unqualified to hold Lavar's jock before Williams came to town. Bottom line is, he left because he knew his one big year was probably the only opportunity he'd have to make big money on a new deal. And I don't see him being as dominant up there as he would have been had he stayed here. Everybody has to pay their bills. His decision was made with that in mind. But I don't buy this whole "the team didn't appreciate me" crap, that's some Lavar-style negotiating that really falls apart when you look at where Pierce was coming from. |

Re: Champ Bailey
I've been following this guy since he was a rookie. I believe he is one of the fastest TEs in the league, once he impoves his route running and ball skills he will be one of the top TEs in the league.
