Re: Draft Prediction

at round 2 we could possibly get the #2 guard in the draft. the best olb/de tweeners (real speed guys) will go in the 2nd-3rd (possibly 4th depending on other teams needs and combines). I'd still much rather WR and DE get fixed in FA, simply because the draft has crap at WR and no drafted DE is going to come in and start immediately... i guess if evans moves to start and the skins draft for 2 years from now it'd make sense, but next year with a 1st roun pick we could do better.

K is better through FA (longwell - still has 10 years of olid play left). P is better through the draft this year though. (and a coupld good WRs will go undrafted too, some 6'6" 4.5 guys to bring in and learn). one of the fastest CBs may go in the 5th (from UMD)... taking him as a future prospect couldn't hurt.

Re: Draft Prediction

I like the sounds of Purdue DE Ray Edwards, 6' 6" 270lbs and Pittsburgh WR Greg Lee, 6' 2" 200lbs. These are two underclassmen that may have greater upside than thier senior comrades. If we get either in the second round it's a steal!

Re: Draft Prediction

ray ewards in the 2nd wouldn't be a steal (he's ssuppoed to go in the 2nd), but it would be a good pickup (he would have to fall a little). Greg lee is closer to a mid 3rd rounder though, so using a 2nd on him would be a waste since he'll probably be there for the skins third.

Gibbs thought drafting Jason Campbell last year was a steal when most experts projected him much lower. My point was that these two underclassmen are underrated because of thier class.

being an underclassman doesn't mean you're automatically underrated though (ie mike williams). edwards iss well thought of... btw, C spencer (OG/T) will be available and he's lower on the board because he spent two years playing DT before moving to Oline, so he's athletic but could use some technique work, which sounds like a good fit with the 42 coaches... (if he were a 4 year starter he'd probably be a 1st rounder and challenge for 1st OG overall)...
