Re: My 2006 TO Prediction

But to give it a bit of objectiveness, I'll give it a shot. Dallas has home field advantage this go around. That will help like usual. If Springs can stay healthy and not continue his decline (that some of have noticed) he'll be able to cover TO with no problem as long as Taylor doesn't bite on some gadget play (which I'm hoping he'll be ready for since Parcells uses it EVERY TIME THEY PLAY). Truthfully, I don't see the Cowboys running on the Skins at all. Every team pretty much had trouble running on the Skins. Whether or not TO "spreads out the field" the Skins have a pretty elite rushing defense.

If the Cowboys are going to win, it has to be through the air. Rogers better play the best ball of his life otherwise Glenn will eat him alive. Washington is an excellent coverage linebacker, so I see Witten being a non-factor. The Glenn vs. Rogers matchup is key.

For Washington, I see them being able to run a bit better than the Cowboys. Portis is just flat-out a better back than Barber or Jones. I still don't think he'll go nuts, but it'll be efficient enough to open up the passing game. Provided Lloyd and Randle El live up to half the hype, they've gotten, I think one or both of them will make some key plays. Both teams need to win through the air. I don't know a lot about the Cowboys linebackers in coverage but both games, Cooley could get open and find holes, so I feel confident in that.

TMC,

Nice review, but close your eyes for a minute and think of your offence when you play Cooley and Fauria at the same time.

Now you have a headache for the opposition.
Picture it.

The TE's being too big for a nickle DB, too good for single LB coverage for more than 5-8 yards, the two WR's - Moss and EL - eager to break single coverage wide open.

And you don't dare pull someone from the box because Sherriff Gonna GetCha will steal your life away from you.

And although he doesn't have the best hands for a RB, you don't want him catching a pass behind the LOS because then he is unleashed on your Secondary and coverage guys who are scrambling around and to try and cover all your pass catching threats.

Think about this for a minute. Picture this formation happening.

Can you see Brunell with a ton of time behind that experienced talented O Line? Even if someone breaks through he still has some wiggle and will buy himself some time while the secondary tries to cover all those pass catching threats.

Just imagine this.

They march down the field, plays being called by a veritable offensive genius, their team Coached by one of the greatest Coaches of all Time.

Picture that.

Can you see it??

This team might emerge from the NFC bEAST to win the whole tournament! They might hoist the trophy for a fourth time in club history.

Can you see it??
Can you picture it??

Now imagine she was white.

Also, don't forget the Sheriff has leather balls. He's going to use those to stiff "arm" someone.

That's why 5RINGS always gets my vote to be a new moderator.

What about that, do we have moderators that are fans of other teams?

Thanks for the props.

It is amazing the lengths a person will go to avoid work on a Friday afternoon...

You're really oversimplifying things.
So are you, Matty. It's not fair to say that with a receiver like TO on the field we don't change our gameplan for him, we roll some coverage to his side. Not as much as most teams and our corners did great matched up on him 1v1, but still. TO does change the way you play defense and he's a great performer, though his personality my be hard to get along with.

I think TO gets more bad press than he deserves (but he does deserve most of it.) There are a lot of veterans in philly that still support him, and if he was as awful as they say, I dont think that would be true.

Not much to worry about with Taylor all over him.
He played the Redskins when he wasn't with Philly. I seem to remember him running a 50 + yarder on the ballcoach.

If anyone honestly tells you that they are not worried about T.O. stand up, turn around, and walk the other direction. You cannot win an argument with someone who knows nothing about football.

Ask Greg Williams if he isn't worried about T.O.

I have seen some really bad posts today. The Redskins kool-aid must be 175 proof today.
