Full Confession,

I thought that Gibbs had lost it after his first season back from Nascar.

I was as wrong as could be.

I'm sure many Cowboy's fans were laughing after the inaugural season.

My guess, is that there are more people in this world similiar to Parcells (abusive, abrasive, arrogant,) then are like St. Joe.

Could you see Joe making that "Jap" play comment?

What was funnier was how so many "know it alls" in the media called Gibbs through and done not even halfway through his first season back. I think it was Terry Bradshaw that proclaimed Gibbs was washed up.

Just goes to show you how much respect a Hall of Fame bust buys you these days. Alot of people weren't even willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for one season.

A great coach is a great coach no matter what decade we're talking about. The great ones can adapt and find new ways to be successful.

I have to admit it, I like watching Parcells' press conferences. He tells it like it is, and he gives the media crap for asking dumb questions.

Re: Attack this poll!!! (7/24/06)

Ok I agree with most of you and I also put your offense as the best in the division just because right now I don't know how our oline will work.

In all this Parcell vs Gibbs thing we can agree that both are HOF coaches the thing that has put in some readers Parcell above Gibbs it's the fact that Parcell has succesfully changed 4 franchises and brought them back 2 contention. Gibbs has done it twice both with the redskins I believe that's the hardest thing to do turn a losing franchise for years and make it competitive again.

It's really impressive what both coaches have made in so little time we're are talking about 2 of the most inportant franchsies that were bottom feaders for years and now because of thsi coaches and their programs are consider SB contenders.

and I don't really accept the comment about dallas has a bigger fan base a few months ago there was a poll about wich receiver should enter the HOF first Monk or Irvin and Monk destroyed Irvin if ti was about the fan base then it should be a competition it has 2 do with what people believe period.

Agreed. Is there any doubt that if Lombardi could come back today and coach that he would be a winner? I know I, for one, have no doubt he could. The question for Gibbs should have never been "if" he could be successful again (none of those so-called experts deserve to even ask that kind of question)......it should have been "how long" will it take. Fortunately for Redskins Nation, it didn't take very long at all.

Re: Attack this poll!!! (7/24/06)

My biggest problem with Parcells is what he did to the Patriots when they made the Super Bowl against the Packers. I remember he sealed the deal with the Jets and announced that he would not be the Patriots coach the next year no matter what the outcome of the Super Bowl was, and he did this like a week before the game. To me, that was inexcusable and unforgiveable. There simply was no reason for that. He basically told his players before the biggest game of their lives that he was ditching them for more money with another team no matter how hard they played for him. It was just a completely classless thing to do and totally unnecessary. The guy is such a freaking attention whore though, that he had to have the headlines all to himself. God forbid he have to share the Superbowl hype with the rest of his team, let everyone concentrate on the game, and then make his big announcement after the game.

You'd never catch Gibbs doing that sort of thing. Gibbs would rather die than do that to one of his teams. But, then that's the difference between the two. Gibbs was a loyal Hall of Fame coach, and Parcells is a soon-to-be Hall of Fame coach with some fatter pockets and a bigger ego to fill.

Really, this is not meant as an offense to the Cowboy fans on here......I just hate your coach. Always have, always will....regardless of the team. There's no doubt he's one of the best coaches to have ever coached in the NFL........I just really can't stand him.

Props to Bradshaw though for admitting he was mistaken last year.

except on cowboy forums, most roids fans believe monk should be put in first as well. We linked to one of those threads a while back.... kinda funny.

Re: Attack this poll!!! (7/24/06)

Who is voting in this thing. Apparently we have the best offense and defense, but not the best coach. I would argue that our coach (who is proven) would be the unanamous(sp?) decision. But alas, I'm biased.
