Re: Ramsey Back to the Bench
with a "wide open" competition I dont see how they can make a decision based on practice. That on any team with 2 guys going after the job, not 4. I just find it hard to understand them making that decision before any pre season games and still very uncertain how chad will throw the long balls. He hasn't even attempted any deep balls on a consistant basis. I would feel the same even if Ramsey wasn't on the team. I do agree, Ramsey is not in the future plans and may even get dealt after the season to another team. I dont really understand why he signed an extension either.

Re: Ramsey Back to the Bench
yeah i agree. mini camp doesnt carry a whole lot of weight. after regular camp and 4 pre season games, the best qb will be the starter

Re: Ramsey Back to the Bench
Ramsey is like a middle reliever. Doesn't have the killer instinct to close a game. And if he knows he's got a start coming up he probably spends all the off days overanalyzing it then comes out making bad decisions on game day. You sort of just have to throw him out there unexpectedly without any pressure and hope that he can keep the boat afloat for a little bit

Re: Ramsey Back to the Bench
Maybe I am in the minority but I feel bad for Ramsey. Spurrier ruined him. Ramsey's second year he looked incredible. The 3-1 start including the comeback in Atlanta. Tying the Giants at Fed-Ex (only to have Lavar and Trotter lose the game). Leading the Skins back against the Eagles only to blow the 2 point conversion.
After being lied to by Gibbs last year it looks like he will never have a chance to fufill his potential. Pennington is a joke. |

Re: Ramsey Back to the Bench
This is from NewYorkJets.com (when the official website can't even sugarcoat your performance you gotta take a long hard look in the mirror)
"Ramsey on the other hand, struggled throughout the night with the second team offense. His team failed to score in both the red zone and two minute drills. Most of his problems stemmed from his aggressive passing style, as many of his throws sailed high over intended receivers. In addition to his inaccuracy, there were countless penalty flags thrown in the two minute drill from delay of game calls to false starts. The second string almost revived itself when Ramsey threw a bomb into the back of the end zone where Wallace Wright made a spectacular diving catch. Unfortunately, the catch was too good to be true, as he was ruled out of bounds." New York Jets
