Now I see why we gave up that 1st rounder...

JC looked good, the deep ball to Jimmy Farris was the most beautiful incompletion I've ever seen. He throws so effortlessly, the ball just jumps off his hand. I think he'll be 2nd string by the end of the preseason, the future looks bright.

Campbell certainly looks the part. He stands tall in the pocket and he seems so calm and at ease. He throws a very pretty ball and he can make all the throws.

He just needs the reps now.

Re: Impressed with Jason Campbell

He seems to have all the makings of a star. I'd like to see progress next week and thru the preseason of him making faster decisions and getting the ball out quicker. Good lord does he have a gun and throw a pretty deep ball though. The passes to Farris and Ortega are a couple of the best balls I've seen a Redskins QB throw in ages. I don't know if Gibbs/Saunders will do it but I'd like to see Campbell get a half with the starters (maybe in the 3rd pre-season game) to see how he looks against starters on defense.

I've been on the JC bandwagon from the very begining.

For some reason the skins scrubs always seem to be better that the opponent in pre-season.

Wow, that was a perfect strike to Farris. Shame it was not caught, we need to make big plays like that. We need JC to get more field time. I didn't like the INT, but for the most part he looked impressive.

Re: Impressed with Jason Campbell

He definitley look like a Pro quarterback last night albeit against scrubs. But remember scrubs are trying to make the team so they playin their tails off. I have said since camp started is that Brunnell pick up a knock so Campbell could take most of the snaps in camp. Collins has to have dropped to #3 i could have done better(lol). Its hard I think if the skins were not real contender Campbell would get a seripus look. And by the way the D was sick holy cow!!

Re: Impressed with Jason Campbell

JC looked great in my opinion. I can't really think of any reason that he will not be the number two guy. Collins may understand the playbook, but lets be real. He threw a pick to a lineman. As a matter of a fact he threw it to a lineman on his first snap and hit him right in the numbers on what was supposed to be a screen pass.

Brunell plays eight games gets hurt and campbell takes over from there. Not that I wish mark to be hurt or anything I love him but that is the way I see it going down.

The starting O-line looked good. The pressure the bengals got was from blitzes not getting picked up. I didn't see anyone get beat straight up. That first drive looked great, then brunell flailed on his attempt at a throw away.

Re: Impressed with Jason Campbell

JCam is definately ready for some mad playing time in the league. Can't count out Brunell, he just looked crisp and comfortable during his whole time in, except for the intercept of course, that was a pretty crappy throw...but for a veteran in the system, Todd Collins looked like a rookie, honestly. JCam opened some eyes...and I watched him all four years at Auburn. Yeah he had different playbooks every year, but the way he picked up on all them so quickly shows his talent. Hope Saunders lets him run some bootlegs and play action so everybody can see his talent for real...it ain't just that deep ball.

They said in the postgame that even before last night's game, Gibbs was going to swap he and Collins for Game #2, so Jason would be running with the second team.

Everyone is salivating to see this kid hook up with Moss, Lloyd, or Randle El...

Re: Impressed with Jason Campbell

The one negative I can say about JC, which may not be negative, is his throwing motion. His drawback looks slow. His release is very fast but I wonder if the slow drawback will allow the defense to read his intentions by a step.
