Re: Why did we trade for duckett?
After much debate, give and take, posts, and interface on this issue, I decided to do some under-cover investigating.
It was determined that when T.J. Duckett first learned that the Redskin play book was 700 pages long, the native Michigander and MSU graduate's response was: "Is someone going to read to me?" After the blockbuster trade for T.J, and when plays were first called in the B&G practice, T.J. would run laterally, E&W as opposed to N & S. Something to do with Hotlanta, according to the coach-speak. Hotlanta, you see, is controlled by something called a "Vick", who as all Fantasy owners know, is not a controllable substance. T.J. was always known in Atlanta as the last "D" in the DVD. The uncontrollable substance, the 'Vick", # 7, and aka. Ron Mexico, had affected the T.J. HD! So, Coach Al Saunders, and HOF Coach Gibbs have the T.J. in the shop, tinkering with the navigational system, re-directing his headlight assembly to recognize a #8 "MB", and are attempting to install a new "compass". Buges further diagnosed a hard-wiring problem, installed a new "CP" "U", which is always the B&G first option anyway, and recommended a GPS. When we see T.J. again, there will be a distinct difference in his hard-wiring, and his recogition of the "CP" "U". But, alas, we will never see under his pads, to notice the scars. True story! All of the above has been fully researched with nameless Redskin insider sources, fully documented over the past several weeks, and we will have an on-field resolve in due time.

Re: Why did we trade for duckett?
I say we find a club that is hurting at RB (a la Houston) and trade Betts - TODAY. His value us way up after a big week - and with TJ, we don't need him.
Let's trade him while he's still capable of bringing us something back in return. At least what we coughed up for Duckett. |

Re: Why did we trade for duckett?
They need to start using him in short yardage. there is no reason to pound portis into the line on 3rd and 1 when we have that big boy sitting on the bench. Most 3rd & 1 runs result in either no gain or 2 yard gains. We should be keeping CP fresh so that he can make game changing plays. Ducket was good in those situations in Atlanta so lets give him a shot.

Re: Why did we trade for duckett?
Simple answer, because Portis was hurt and so was Betts. If you ask 10 people about the degree of Portis' injury you get 10 answers.
They had the flexibility to make the move so they did. It is that simple. |

Joke about the Niners all you want, they are a much improved team. In a year or two they will be a team to be reckoned with.

Re: Why did we trade for duckett?
A buck twenty? Holt and Bruce combined only had a 107 yds and 1 TD. Those numbers are lower than I expected going into the game. I think our secondary won the battle.

Re: Why did we trade for duckett?
107 and a TD against holt/bruce isn't bad. especially when our secondary just gave up 152 to andre johnson alone.
