At this rate, we'll have a #3 or 4 pick and could pick up Brady. Keep in mind we are only 1 win away from being the worst team in football.

Why not take Calvin Johnson from GT? I mean he's 6'5'' ,240 lbs, and runs a sub 4.4 40. He and JC could become the next great QB/WR tandem in the league! WHY NOT?! HAIL from MCUSA!

We need another receiver about as much as we need Bruce Smith back. Now, given that we have the worst front office in football, that is exactly what we will do.

Campbell's projection is off the charts. Your boy, Alex Smith, fares pretty well by it too.

Quinns a 4 year starter for a major program in which his career completion % will hover around 60% at the end of the season. That's good for the system.

It has been wrong before. But in general, if you suck (a term used loosely, cause of the hype factor) in college, like Kyle Boller, who vastly outplayed his projection, you won't be much in the NFL.
you're hanging your hat too much on that article. that article projects kyle boller as the best NFL QB EVER, so it's a bit flawed. i believe campbell will probably be above average, but probably not mcnabb like.

brady quinn projects better, but he isn't all that tough and he's erratic (like eli manning). sometimes he just forgets all the rules about technique and justs plays awful... but he usually turns it around within the same game.

I think if jarret or johnson declare early, they're actually safer picks. Either way, quinn is probably a raider, and i don't think we'll be able to trade up that high (it gets really expensive) and take that big a contract for yet another QB if we can't at least see what the last QB we traded up and drafted can do for us :P.

he's got football speed, but his last timed 40s were in the 4.55 range.

and you don't need to add hail from mcusa on every damned post. it's just annoying.

that's true, and we don't need adrian peterson either. but the top 5 (if 4 underclassmen declare) could be a QB, a RB, and 3 WRs. calvin johnson may very well be the best talent in the entire draft. either way, that'd be 3 positions we're hopefully okay at... but until we see campbell we can't know. Best talent available does have it's merits though, if you can get good baseline talent with cheap/vet min FA signings. Johnson could be TO+ with a great work ethic and team attitude.

cb is looking a bit weak. there's a GW type corner (6'1" 195) up near the top and some DEs and a DT... more depth at OL and LB though. posluszny (OLB) would be a fairly safe pick in the top 10 range...

No. Trade down (if possible). If not, go for best available (within reason).

Re: Should the Redskins make a run at Brady Quinn?

The odds of a first round QB pick--especially a high one--paying off are exceptionally low.

Are there ones that work? Obviously. However, the odds of a major bust and disaster are about as bad as it gets in the NFL.

Hey newbie, welcome to the board, but I suggest you take a look around before starting so many new threads. A lot of this has already been discussed and the Warpath Gods don't appreciate talking about the same things over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
We don't three names Brunell, Ramsey, Arington over and over and over and over!

Re: Should the Redskins make a run at Brady Quinn?

1) Bank on Brady Quinn being more like Trent Dilfer than Tom Brady
2) He's a product of his environment. Once drafted, his GQ looks will only get him the herp from Paris Hilton (ask Matt Leinart).
3) The Skins have Jason Campbell, we don't need more knucklehead young QBs in a Gibbs system, who relies on washed up QBs to win Super Bowls (Theismann, Williams, Rypien).
4) n00bie training with TAFKAS starts in 20 minutes. don't be late.

No way!

Get a quality "D" or "O" lineman.

Re: Should the Redskins make a run at Brady Quinn?

Easy answer.

NO.

Quinn reminds me a lot of Rick Mirer and not just because of the Irish uniform.

He looks like a guy who can handle college defenses but not pro ones. He got destroyed by a good Michigan defense and doesn't look good late in games. Mirer could run better than Quinn though. So can Campbell.

We'd be wasting 3 years of developing Campbell and set the team back about that long if he just abandoned him.

We have better positions to address...like CB, or any defensive position.
