Re: if campbell doesn't start next week
Gibbs loves his vets, especially at QB. He stuck by Theismann too long as well.
It has nothing to do with their religion or off the field relationship. |

This just in... MB cannot handle the blitz. If we all know this ya think other teams do? It's time for a change at qb (even if its collins).

That was a blistering post game show, I always watch after every game because we have people there who are not afraid to ask the tough question (the ones they don't want to answer) and also do not sugarcoat things that are obvious because they're afraid to rock the boat. B. Mitch played for Gibbs for a long time and I'm sure still respects him as a man, but he feel much of the blame for this teams failures rest with the HC.

Excellent question, and hell yea, Brunell was wounded by the question, but still - someone's gotta ask these questions. Gibbs is a pu$$y in postgame interviews anyway. After a win, he can talk about key plays in the game and single out individual accomplishments, but after a loss, Gibbs can't comment on anything without seeing the film???? wtf! Sad part is - forget this season, I don't think we're going anywhere next season either with the aging defense and O-line we have. Somewhere, Lenny Pasta is laughing hard and feeling vindicated by his bold prediction from Feb 2004 about the failure of GIbbs 2.0 |

Re: if campbell doesn't start next week
I felt that the Skin's should have had Collins at QB this game, simply because he knows Al's system, after losing this week I think they should got to Jason to develop him the rest of the year.
Brunnell does not have enough zip when he needs it anymore, and the legs have gotten slower than they have been. I have confidence that Gibbs will make the change, I think Gibbs realizes he has gone above and beyond how long he has stuck by Brunnell. There has never been a player with more talented and humble than Darrel Green !!!! |

Re: if campbell doesn't start next week
Your correct. Gibbs likes the vets. But this is getting absurd. If I were D. Snyder I would DEMAND that Jason play next week or your fired. Personally I'm getting so sick and tired of Gibbs act. Honestly I hope he leaves after this year. He is a soft coach now. The conservative game plans and the horrible personal moves are bad enough. Then when they stink up the joint he comes on TV and says were all in it togehter and we have a lot of fight and character. What a bunch of bullshit. Go tell that crap to your wife. But don't tell it to the fans. You are what your record is and that's not very good. And even if they start Campbell do you honestly think the game plan will change? They are still going to call 30 screen plays a game and try and baby him.

Saunders system????? Screw his stupid ass system! How about getting in the Qb in which you have 2 #1 picks invested in and having a smaller game plan. Then go in with a small game plan and EXECUTE THE PLAYS. I'm so tired of this 700 page playbook BS. The Colts run a basic offense. Wayne on the left and Harrison on the right and they don't use any motion. They just frickin execute better than anyone else. Of course having Manning doesn't hurt but I'm sure you people out there get my point. |

Re: if campbell doesn't start next week
I would encourage all those who think that Gibbs is a pussy to remeber that he did play Offensive Line for Don Coryell at San Diego State. He looks small next to the NFL players of today, but in person he is fairly imposing. If you have ever seen him standing next to Tony Stewart you will know what I mean. I would guess that Gibbs, even at his age, could probably beat the shit out of nearly everyone who has ever posted at this site. I KNOW he could beat the shit out of Czaban.

For whatever it's worth he is the most familiar with it, in my mind he could not have done any worse than Brunnell, for this last thrashing we took. But from here out I do believe that Jason should be in at QB. I felt that when they brought Saunders in it was yet another system that players where going to have to adjust to, breaking any consistancy in Gibbs system which got the Skin's to the playoffs. I am sick of players having to adjust to a new coaching system every year or two. |

It's not assinine at all. He doesn't give us the best chance to win. He may not call the plays anymore but his handprints are all over the game plan. I mean this is basically a high school offense we are running. I have never seen such a conservative approach to NFL offensive football. The rules BEG YOU TO THROW IT DOWNFIELD. Yet we still run these 3 yard passes when it's 3-10. He is out of touch with today's game. He has handled the whole Jason C. situation very poorly. It's not 1985 and you don't leave high draft picks on the bench for two years. He is coddling Jason C. like he did Rypien and Humphries. Campbell can handle the pressure. He played 4 years in the SEC. Why isn't Rocky M. playing over Holdman? Two second round draft picks invested in him and they still play Holdman. For what? Plus you don't bring in a gazillion free agents every year and expect it to work. YOU CAN'T BUY TEAM CHEMISTRY. What other NFL coach does this crap? And he's so hard headed. The only reason we are running shotgun is becasue of Bill Mustgrave. |

Re: if campbell doesn't start next week
Yes, Gibbs is way too loyal to Brunell. Sadly, Gibbs' loyalty to him has made this a wasted season. And I'm not saying it's all Brunell's fault. The defense has been very disappointing, and it would be bad with or without Brunell. But, by starting Brunell this deep into it, we wasted a good chance to see whether JC is the future. I've said it all season: Jason Campbell could have started out 2-5 or 3-6 - just like wily veteran Brunell - and had half a season under his belt.
