Re: Arenas is amazing
I just went to the game last night against the Bulls and we rocked it without Arenas playing well. Stevenson looked really good that game, and I hope he can step it up when one of the Big Three are not playing well. We really need that.

Re: Arenas is amazing
Not only that but with Etan coming back and Blatche stepping up, the bench just got much deeper. Plus they're still waiting on Songaila to get healthy......this team can only get better.

Re: Arenas is amazing
Steve Nash was MVP the past two years and he is doing even better, so he will have to hit a lot more game winners and increase his stats to dethrone steve. or hope steve and lebron get hurt

Re: Arenas is amazing
I know...Nash had 21 ASSISTS in a game last week. He also scored like 42 once earlier in the year.
However, he does sit on the bench a lot and the Suns still run up the scoreboard without him, so it could be that Nash is just benefitting from a good offensive system. Seriously, they plug anyone into that lineup and still score 130+ points any given night. Yes, Nash does help Stoudamire and Marion have big games every night, but Arenas does the same for Jamision and Butler, who both average near 20 pts/gm. Arenas is definately more "valuable" than anyone else to their team...without him, the Bullets would be in major trouble and would have problems scoring 80 points. Hopefully Nash doesn't win again this year. With Gil's breakout season, hopefully he'll win. I think he's the only guy who can beat Nash for the award. Iverson won't...his numbers should go down when Anthony is back. Anthony could've had a chance without getting suspended for 5 weeks. Lebron and Kobe aren't helping their teams win with their stats. Duncan's on the decline. It almost has to be Nash or Arenas....but I think Arenas is the most VALUABLE player. |

Re: Arenas is amazing
i don't think gil will win (even if i think he deserves it)... nash will win it for a three-peat. gil even mentions kobe's performance last year not being enough.

Re: Arenas is amazing
I have never seen a team double Arenas as much as the Knicks did tonight.

Re: Arenas is amazing
they need to dominate when gil is getting smothered like that. if they can make teams pay for that then they actually could have a good run at it in the east. otherwise they are in trouble. I think Butler and Jamison are up to it but the rest of the team seem like pieces. They need one quality inside defender and rebounder who can control the middle.
