There are a good five posts in this thread explaining exactly why we'd want to sign guys like this.
Bite me Schneed. I was just making a comment, not asking for your wise a*s remarks.

You won't get any wise ass remarks as long as you avoid asking questions that were answered a mere five posts earlier.

I think the CFL serves as a great psuedo-minor league system for the NFL, along with NFL Europe. Every once in a while a guy who's needs just a little bit more experience or conditioning or whatever gets a shot and makes a decent contribution to their team. It's like pannig for gold but the payout could be just as good.

Sigh...I'm not accusing you of anything. All I'm saying is let it go and let's move on.

Re: Skins sign another CFL player

How much does it cost the team to add a guy like this who will probably only be around for a couple of months? I doubt it makes any kind of a salary cap hit and I understand the logic for bringing these guys in, but I'm wondering if there is any kind of a finacial risk in bringing in people who have almost no chance at even making it to training camp?

They don't usually receive a signing bonus so the financial risk is zero.

I figured as much, just wasn't sure.

Sounds like XXX is about going to expand into "home movies". I can see it now.

Chip Cox and Jim Popp just finish a training camp practice (no pads of course) and walk to the parking lot. Here come the cheerleaders with Clint Kent....

Geeze...haha...na, they need to sign a player with a little more obvious name first...something perhaps like Mr. Vagina P. Football, yeah, THEN they could have a porno

Re: Skins sign another CFL player

I think it will be far easier to make the team as a cornerback this year than as a running back last year.

As far as being cut from Detroit, we all know they don't have any good players, so Millen must cut them all. ;-)

It's highly unlikely that any of these CFL guys will make our 53 man roster next season. They most likely represent added competition in camp, but nothing more. They're worth taking a flyer on, because hey you never know if you can unearth a gem. But nobody should get their hopes up on that one.

We'll get better players with our 6th and 7th round picks.
