Re: Russell to the skins?
Yes... this must be true... just like it must be true that Snyder must want Randy Moss because Synder was seen watching Moss catch passes at a football game. These guys write this stuff to get people to read. They are the National Enquirer of sports writing. Don't let them fool you.
We have to bring in JaMarcus. If he falls to #6 then that means some wierd stuff has happened ahead of us and we need to know about him. It can happen. Remember Aaron Rodgers?

Re: Russell to the skins?
Any chance the Skins were just down at LSU to check out Landry (sp?), but they just made it seem like they were there for Russell to hide their interests?

Re: Russell to the skins?
According to Shefter, the visit was at his Pro Day but they are trying to schedule a personal interview with him.
Only three scenarios make any sense to me about this. First, remember Auburn two years ago. Everyone knew that the Skins were chasing Rogers (they publicly discussed his attributes) and at his Pro Day they snuck in a conversation with JC. Second, due to Snyder's wonderful choices in recent years, it would make perfect sense for him to grab a big name instead of a great player at a position of need (Anderson). And honestly, it must be killing Snyder that he hasn't gotten any splash since the SB. So, he trades up, drafts him, then trades him to the Chiefs who the Raiders didn't want to get Russell bc they'd have to play him twice a year (I know it's unreasonable to think that this much thought has gone into it but I'm hopeful). Or third, This is complete nonsense. THere is absolutely no interest but it gets your name in the news. |

we have nothing to trade, no thanks.
this would be a truly stupid move, and i don't think it has any basis in reality. |

Re: Russell to the skins?
That is the only reason any interest in Russell makes sense.

Re: Russell to the skins?
RETARDED THREAD.
To lend any semblance of credence to this ridiculous rumor is asinine. Let's not contribute to the circulation of ridiculous rumors and kill this thread right now. THERE IS NO WAY the Redskins are going to draft Russell. Cerrato was on hand at his workout to make other teams wonder what we're doing. Total smokescreen, these are not the droids you're looking for, move along.

Re: Russell to the skins?
Wait, but they were the droids that they were looking for. Does this mean that you're a member of the DRC (Draft Russell Cabal)?

truly the only thing asinine is when we all thought we needed a new GM, you didnt apply for the position. I mean you know so much about what the team needs. If you remember correctly our offense wasnt that explosive last year why not explore the possibility of getting a franchise qb. I mean JC has been far less then great. |

Re: Russell to the skins?
Everybody is interested in Russell. Since we have a top pick, we have to show interest in everybody. It wouldn't make sense to announce who we like, b/c of trade scenarios. The game is played by making other teams think that we could pick the player whom they are targeting. Smoke screens.
BTW...Russell left his workout w/ some scouts saying it was the best workout they have ever seen. He won't go past Oakland. |

Re: Russell to the skins?
This is a garabage rumor. It makes absolutely no sense for the Skins to move up and the Raiders to move down. However, I got to see a lot of Jamarcus Russel last season, he CAN play. I think he's gonna be really good, but trading away Campbell to make it work is just stupid. I like Russell as much as anyone who is scouting him, I just don't buy the rumor and don't want him to replace Campbell.
