Re: Greatest Sports Moment in a Movie

How about Robin Williams game winning TD catch in "The Best of Times", or for that matter excellent QB play of Kurt Russell in the same movie.

Or how about Scott Bakula's game winning TD pass in "Necessary Roughness".

Oh wait I got it, the Greatest Sports Moment in a Movie is when Billy Cole, from "The Last Boy Scout" get's his TD gangsta style by pulling a gun out and paving the way for himself to the endzone, then taking care of business when he gets there.

At the end of the Longest Yard when Paul Crew goes and get the football and walks by the warden and says "game ball" after the warden was yelling for a guard to shoot him.

Romeo Must Die. When I was like 9 or 10 and super scrawny, I'd pretend I was playing football with the older neighborhood boys but I'd pull all sorts of karate moves on them.

the race down the K12 between Lain myers and roy(?). myers only has one ski ,plus he's being chased by the paperboy who is yelling "i want my two dollars" from his bike that has a ski on each tire. myers still somehow wins the thrilling race and the heart of his ex-girlfreind Beth.

Dude, she lost it in her pool cabana...Damone walked her home, they were going for a swim, he pumped twice and made her a woman. Then ditched her when it was abortion time.

Some classic moments. Here are a few of mine:
- Benny's Grand Slam against the Little League team in The Sandlot, or if you prefer, the chase scene with Hercules (another underrated movie)
- Hitting the 3 wood into the cup with the last ball on the 72nd Hole of the US Open in Tin Cup
- Depansing the Private School snob during the roller hockey game in Airborne
- Wild Thing striking out Clue Haywood (Harry Doyle: Heywood leads the league in most offensive categories, including nose hair. When this guy sneezes, he looks like a party favor.) to win the AL East in Major League
- Ricky Bobby racing Jean Girard to the finish line in Talledega Nights
- Henry Rowengartner striking out Butch Heddo with the floater in Rookie of the Year
- Getting Ken Griffey Jr out with the hidden ball trick in Little Big League
- Billy Hoyle finally dunking in White Men Can't Jump
- Charlie Conway's triple deke to beat the Hawks in The Mighty Ducks

I'll have to think of some more...

I disagree. She lost it towards the beginning of the movie in the dugout with the college guy, who thought she was 18. The song "Somebody's Baby" played in the background.

Then later she got knocked up by Damone in the pool house.

Re: Greatest Sports Moment in a Movie

AMD's right. Thinking about that reminded me about another great sport moment in that movie. When Spicoli and Forrest Whittaker's little brother wreck his car and then blame it on the rival team. Forrest Whittaker's character (Jefferson?) goes off on the other team.

Ha, what a classic moment.
Whittaker looks like the love-child of Lawrence Thomas* and LaVar (c. 2002) when he's tearing the other team apart.

*EDIT- I'm an idiot, but I won't change it.

Is Lawrence Thomas the love-child of Lawrence Taylor and Derrick Thomas?
