I've got a bad feeling that the Skins are about to blow this draft and their future. The defensive line has been a problem since Snyder has been the owner. I don't care if the Skins move up in the draft, move down or even stay put, but they better draft a defensive lineman. I would prefer Amobi Okoye, but with all these horrible rumors, any of the top five defensive lineman would be ok with me. If they pick up a player in a position they don't need, I'll be sick.

I agree.....And statements coming from Snyder, Gibbs, and Cerrato leaves one with the impression that their intention is to draft the best player available regardless of position. In the Redskins situation, this to me does not make much sense unless it's their desire to see a repeat performance of last year. They pointed to the additions of Fletcher, and Smoot, but those two players are not enough to make the 31st ranked defense appreciatively better.

I'm not getting carried away by talk of CJ, but I know that JLC would not report that about Springs if he didn't have a source confirm it.

I hate to say it,but Springs is likely gone, think about it:
1) Smoot said he wouldn't be "anybody's bench warmer" in Minn.
2) Macklin agreed to sign for less than he could've elsewhere, but still only has a 1 yr. deal.

This says to me that our corners will be Rogers, Smoot & Macklin in that order.

I think Detroit would consider it, not Oakland. Oakland's D is actually pretty nasty.

You think Detroit would trade completely out of the first round for Shawn Springs and a 2008 first round pick? That is what at least two people on here have implied. You must mean they would consider the #6 pick, a 2008 first rounder, and Springs. I think Tampa could pony up more than that, though, as I believe they have multiple 2nd round picks.

All I know is we have 3 WRs 27 years old or younger, none of whom have been on the team longer than 2 years, ALL of whom got signing bonuses of at least $10M. And NOW we're gonna trade next year's 1st rd pick to move up and get ANOTHER WR?? WTF is right. The only way I like this is if we somehow move Lloyd for an additional draft pick, but I couldn't see us getting anything more than a 4th or 5th rounder for him, and no one wants his contract. More smoke and mirrors.

Dan also stated that they always take a look at top draft picks. It also said that in the past weeks Springs was shoped so this nothing new.

God Damn!!!!!!!!! WE do not need another WR on this team!!!!!!! We have on paper the best WR corp in the NFL. All we need is for Llyod and even Randle to up the production(really just Llyod) and a big part of that(lack of production) was just trying to get the system down and MB's noodle arm. We desperately need a defensive lineman or two in the draft. If we got a bit crazy and picked up Landry I wouldn't be too pissed, but we do not need a WR, especially if we have to give up more 1st round picks. Since we go from 1st round to 5th round this draft is almost a waste except for the first rounder, so we need to make sure this guy is going to help us to the max. The only positions we should even be thinking about acquiring are DE, DT, S, G, or even another CB. First round WR's do not have a very good history as of late. All you have to do is look at the sorry ass Lions. Get a guy that can really contribute on every down on the side of the ball he plays on. We don't need another WR, when we have a full stable of thoroughbreds!!!!!!
