A 4th rounder is not a bad price to pay, but Moss is not someone who will make the Pats better for very long.

I agree, Moss is not someone who will make the Pats better for very long. He's someone who will make the Patriots MUCH better for as long as he suits up. He's still an elite receiver and now playing with one of the 2 best qbs in the league, it's almost unfair. |

Re: Randy Moss to Patriots for 4th Rounder
The History of Moss:
Signed Letter of Intent to ND then went to jail. Scholarship negated Went to FSU, but kicked out after smoking pot Transfered to Marshall Drafted by Vikings. Assaults cop and charged with marijuana possession; walks off field at Fedex Traded to Raiders - admits to smoking pot everyday to Bryant Gumbel; qoted as saying "I play when I want to play" There is a lot of talent in this kid but anybody who says that simply going to NE is going to straighten him out is naive. Merriweather from the U is a dumb college kid that made mistakes. Who hasn't. Moss is a dumb adult who continues to make mistakes. Time will tell. |

Re: Randy Moss to Patriots for 4th Rounder
He tore his ACL in the AFC Championship game. His rehab is on schedule be he still won't be ready until mid-season.
Man, Brady has some weapons now. That offense is gonna be absurd. Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Watson, Maroney... yikes. They are gonna be scary good. And we have to play them IN Foxboro.

Re: Randy Moss to Patriots for 4th Rounder
I think this is a good move for both NE and Moss. I expect Moss to step it up with the Patriots.

Re: Randy Moss to Patriots for 4th Rounder
Hes got his hands on Dan Synders coke stash. How else do you explain New Englands FA spending spree?

The media and half the warpath. If we made this exact same trade the reaction would be "Waahh, we need a GM. Boo hoo. He's old, he's a malcontent, why did we trade a pick for him?"

They'd be stupid to redo his deal though. Just let him play for his 9 mil base salary or whatever and cut him (free of cap penalty) if it doesn't work out.

Re: Randy Moss to Patriots for 4th Rounder
Randy Moss will get his ass beat in the Pat's locker room if he acts out. Then he will get cut. All that is lost is a 4th round pick. That is the Blue collar type of team Bellichick has put together. They close the door and deal with team issues in private. They are the model of how to run an NFL team.
Randy Moss will be the happiest player in the NFL next year, because he went from the worst team to the best. It is an honor for him to play for the Pats and contend for a title. This is the Corey Dillon scenario all over again. Pats gave up a 4th and got Moss to renegotiate his cap number. It's a win-win-win. |
