If you don't want to pay for the NFL Ticket, I'd go with Dish. Better service from what I've heard and noticed myself and for my preferences, they had a better channel selection and were a couple of bucks cheaper. |

Re: nfl network gone?
I really think it comes down to what is best in your area. When I lived in Fairfax Directv was awesome no problems with signal or anything. then I moved to Maryland signal was out all the time and the local Directv workers were really bad.

Yeah, that is true. I've worked with a wireless network at my job and there are some locations where it's the best service available and other places where mountains or neighbor's trees that they refuse to cut make the service horrible.

Also I would like to add if you are raising a family and are mairred, if you can justify spending $350 on NFL Tictet to your wife and kids instead of buying food and school clothes, GOD BLESS YOU!

The ticket isn't cheap and of course you need to have your priorities. Still, it's something I enjoy and something worth saving up for.

Re: nfl network gone?
I’ve been a DirecTV subscriber since 1998 here in the ATL after leaving the D.C. area and there are no substitutes. If you thrive on watching the NFL (and especially if you are a ‘Skins fan living outside of D.C.), then DirecTV has you by the short ones. However, even with the high cost (and yes, I have a family) it has been a great experience. Fortunately, my wife and kids are big football fans so the family doesn’t mind eating Ramon noodles every fall. In addition, I recently convinced DirecTV to upgrade my service with the Plus HD DVR…for free! I’m not affiliated w/ them in any way, but I’ve been a happy camper for almost 10-years.

Re: nfl network gone?
I would dish out the money if I lived in ATL so I could see the Skins but, it is hard to pay that money when you get it for free on local channels here. In reality if you are out the DC market it is cheaper to get NFL Ticket every year then going to the bar every Sunday to watch it.

Re: nfl network gone?
Precisely mredskins. If we were still in the D.C. area, it would be a tough call to pony up the samolians req’d for the NFL Ticket. Yet, given that so many people in D.C. are not natives, and thus fans of other NFL teams, it remains the only venue to watch your favorite team if they reside elsewhere. Plus, that whole family thing I mentioned in my previous post? Well, that would be an even tougher call if I spent my time and money at the local watering hole!

Re: nfl network gone?
Regardless of where I lived I would still have the ticket. I like to be able to flip around and watch any game.

Re: nfl network gone?
Yeah. Commercials make me pissy. Does anyone else like pause the game for JUST a few minutes so you can fast forward through the next batch of commercials?

I don't flip around during the Skins game, but I do with the others. I love it. Plus I am a huge fantasy football nutt, and the way you can get stats from each game is a very good selling point.

Re: nfl network gone?
I do that too...but I don't like to miss out on live action. Especially if I am online here talking about the game.

Re: nfl network gone?
Yeah. I have to get really creative how I do it. Like if I HAVE to use the bathroom, I pause it, and then I'll take my sweet time and grab another beer or something and that'll take a nice two minutes.

Re: nfl network gone?
TMC that is funny! During football season I put Purell in the bathroom so I am not wasting a lot of time washing my hands so I can rush back to the TV. Nothing worse then peeing and hearing everyone going crazy and you are stuck in mid stream!
