Culpepper doesn't know this offense and I don't think he has any intention of being anyone's mentor. For the role the backup has to serve on our team, give me Brunell any day.

I disagree, 1- Brunell is old, and takes up a lot of cap space while Culpepper is hitting his prime age. 2- We have two old players that "know the system", if we drop brunell then collins would still be there.
Right now we have no young back up unless you count what we'll have on the practice squad.
Culpepper came back too early, and that affected him. It's not like he had time to learn his WR's or the system. That would be a huge upgrade for us.

No way Brunell plays this year barring injury.

You actually provide a very good point NOT to sign him. I am sick of QB controversies. But if Cambell sucks, then this whole season is shot.

But injuries are a huge part of the game. Not even Manning takes 100% of the snaps...although he comes DAMN close.

yes it is but I see Campbell starting 15 games, not the lasr one cause we will have home-field wrapped up.

When is the last time he missed any significant playing time during a meaningful game? Or Tom Brady?

Unless we're not serious about Campbell, I don't think there is anything to gain from signing Culpepper to be a backup.

I think we all will...and quite frankly, I feel it's there is a 40% chance of that happening. I am hoping he is going to have a 3500 yard season with 25 tds and 12 ints...up to 15 ints.

I don't recall that Ramsey got benched for poor performance. If I remember correctly, he had over a 100 yards in a quarter and a half and had thrown for one touchdown (called back through no fault of Ramsey's) when he was benched for almost the whole season. I also remember that in Ramsey's last game as a Redskin he had a quarterback rating of about 180 and led the Skins in a playoff win against the Giants, only to then be benched for good and traded.

The Skins should pick up Culpepper, but they won't. Once again, Gibbs' judgment about Brunell is in the way of sanity as well as being a monumental irritant. Campbell goes down, Skins go down. We have the weakest backup in the NFL. I'd give five Brunells and faily decent bucks for Culpepper. I'd also cut our other worthless backup and bring up Casey for the third option.

LOL, he'll still start the 16th game to get the practice, but come out around half time.

I think Brunell's value to the team (there I go again talking about Brunell) is greatly underappreciated by the masses. He's not being asked to lead the team on the field. He's there to play when needed but most importantly to help Campbell, sort of serve as another coach and a mentor. I still maintain that in both those categories he's much better than Culpepper. Campbell has spoken highly of him and Brunell has done a very good job of mimicing other offenses in practice

OK, while they haven't...nor Favre...how many other qb's do that?

Look at our division, While Eli played all 16, McNabb played in 10, Garcia 8, and Feeley 2 for the eagles, and for the cowboys Bledsoe played in 6 games before homo came about.

FYI- Vinny Testicle and Matt Cassell did have a combined 11 attempts for the Patriots.

Look at Denver, Jacksonville, Minnesota, Miami, K.C. and there are plenty more. Now a days, you NEED a back up QB.

I doubt they were 11 attempts of any significance. Anyway, look at it this way the final four teams to make the playoffs last year-Bears, Saints, Pats, and Colts each started one quarterback all season long.

Well, Ramsey NEVER played a playoff game.
Here's the proof:
Patrick Ramsey statistics - pro-football-reference.com
Scroll down and you will see no postseason data.
Now, in 05, he did play the last game of the season vs the Giants...that might be what he is referring to. But going 5 for 7 is not someone that is worthy of anything. Even in 05, his rating was not over 100...it was 95.3, but he only had 25 attempts all season, so it's not like there was enough to go by.
In 04- 74.8
03- 75.8
02- 71.8

Chemistry wise, I will agree...but again, if Campbell goes down, we literally have NO shot. We are putting all our apples in one basket.
