I mean c'mon folks, its a cool ad, but to say its real or that Campbell could do this is crazy.
My basic argument is Campbell's a pro, and so while this may seem IMPOSSIBLE to you and me, to Campbell it's something he does to kill time b/w reps. I just went outside and threw a football 10 yards, then hit it with another football. the balls went left and right. I did this in three tries. Do you really think Jason Campbell couldn't do this at 25 yards? Honestly, I bet every QB in the nfl can. It's really not that hard. It certainly would be easier to do it than animate it with cgi. But I think anyone who doubts it should go try it for themselves.

OK, so you threw a ball 10 yards, and had time to reload, and rocket the next ball to make it collide, in mid air mind you, and while doing so you knew that one ball would go one way, the other ball the other.....Folks, we have found our backup QB, and we can save some cash cause he already has his own helmet. WHAT HAPPENED IN THE VIDEO CANNOT HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE.

Yea, I saw that on redskin.com with JC, and also read your earlier post , that this can't happen in real life. Your DEAD WRONG!

I wasn't there and I doubt you were....? But I've seen with my own two eyes, half ass QB's do some unreal thing's with the football, very similiar to this video, it is very doable!

Whether he made the throw or not, anybody's GUESS!

I wouldn't say it's impossible to do, just highly unlikely without a ton of luck.

Exactly. This is phyically possible but the physics needed to pull it off render it basically impossible. You could take the most accurate QB in history and put him on the filed every day the rest of life trying to do this and it might never happen.

My brother in law was convinced that Tiger Woods could not have done that deal with the bouncing ball and the baseball swing. He wouldn't believe it was real. It took me a solid year to convince him that to Woods, that was nothing and he did in 4 takes (If I recall). I think Campbell could do it, but I don't know if he did do it. Part of the illusion is making it seem plausible. I mean, they are not having him perform lasik surgery with a football. It seems like he could do it.

Wow, am I the only one that read the article about this in the WP yesterday? I don't have the link but it basically says JP was hounded after practice with tons of fans and reporters asking him if it was real. He tried his best to not reveal the answer, but later admitted that it was real and it took about 50 takes to get it right.

I'm surprised how many of you think its fake. It's real; get over it.

Jason Campbell: Fake Fake Fake Fake Fake - D.C. Sports Bog

The great question in the media room the past several days--aside from whether Sean Taylor will ever speak with us--is whether Jason Campbell's NFL.com fantasy football commercial (above) is real or computer-assisted.

From the beginning, I said fake fake fake fake fake fake. A team spokesman, however, has been insisting that he watched in person as Campbell executed the trick for an NFL.com crew. Jason "sell me a timeshare in Boca" LaCanfora decided to buy the party line:

I am just enough of a rube to actually buy it. Others here in the media room, especially The Mad Bogger, Dan Steinberg, the Brandon Lloyd of NFL experts, say no flippin' way. Calls BS on it. Sez it's totally fake. I got JC's back, I'm buying in, he wouldn't deceive us, would he?

People on ExtremeSkins also jumped on board:

IT IS REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kelli Johnson just said it is real........and Jason did it on the 2nd take. OMG.......we have a winner in JC!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!

Today, I determined the truth would be revealed.

Fellow quarterbacks--none of whom had seen the commercial--were asked whether such a feat were possible.

"I've never even tried," Todd Collins Campbell said. "Maybe I'll try tomorrow; then I'll have a better answer for you."

"I used to do this as a kid; you throw the ball and I'll try to hit it," rookie Jordan Palmer said. "It's doable, but to split it and go perfectly to two guys? I mean, you can answer that, can't you? That's ridiculous."

Finally, I found Campbell signing autographs for his adoring fans and asked the crucial question. "Did you hit it, did you hit it?" the adoring fans also asked, knowing immediately what I was talking about.

"Yeah," Campbell said.

"Yeahhhh, I knew that was real," one of the adoring fans said.

"I don't believe you dude," I said.

"You don't believe me?" he asked.

"Jason, I believe you," the adoring fan said.

I asked a total of 10 follow-up questions, but was stonewalled at every turn. His answers included "it's all about being creative," "see, I can't answer that, then people would get mad," and "it's a mystery, unsolved." I asked what I should tell the world; "just tell them to observe what they see and have their own opinion," he said. There was a lot of laughing involved. That was good enough for me.

Then Campbell was snatched up by the media mob; the first question, naturally, was about the commercial. He told the mob that the stunt required 25 or 50 takes, and that the whole point of the ad was to leave people wondering, to leave the mystery unsolved.

"Just go home try it out in your backyard," he urged us. "If you hit it, I'll give you $10."

I mean, he was mastering the art of spin before our very eyes. The next question was about Antwaan Randle El's frequent jabs at his playcalling diction. "Antwaan has little ears," Campbell said. "He's got to get some bigger ears so he can hear."

(He was also asked whether his ad was similar to LeBron James and the full-court shot; "I can do that one," Campbell said. "Anything's possible.")

Really it doesn't matter if it's real or fake in my opinion. I mean it's not like he can do that in a game and we can magically score two touchdowns on one play.

So whatever tricks he can do on his own time, that's great; but I'd rather just see real results come game time.

But the Physics needed to pull it off render it basically impossible...? That makes no sense at all!

I work in the R & D Nuclear Physics field, please explain why you believe that to be true.....?

WOW, talk about selective reading! That article did not say it was real, because IT WASN'T. That article said that the commerical required 25-50 takes, not that it was real. Do you believe the Neil Rackers ad last year was real too? LMAO
