Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?
Additionally, we have not defended QB runs at all the last two weeks. I'm not saying that we didn't defend them well or that we were unprepared. I mean that we just didn't defend them.
McNabb really doesn't want to run, but if we force him to he will beat us. The DL really needs to play better this week.

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?
It would be 1 & 4 as hey beat the Giants in week one. I never liked these type threads about if a team was dead right before we have to play them. They just seem to come back and bite us.

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?
The iggles look wounded & spirtitually crushed. The didn't even seem to take TO's return as any big deal last night. The 2 guys that matter most to the team - McNabb & Reid- are both going through tough times. Add to that Dawkins, the leader of the D, has been hurting all year.
Still, this game worries me. I would honestly rather be playing them again in Philly. They are a better road team & I think getting away from philly will improve their focus. They played out of a hole last year & Reid is probably trying to motivate them w/the same tactics this year; the classic us against them underdog role. They're not a big underdog though, I expect this game to be very close & ugly. |

I think it was Dallas that beat the Giants in week one in Texas stadium. Eagles have not won a divison game yet this year

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?
They may be out of the playoff contention, but they would like nothing more than to beat us at home.
Remember, we barely beat the Fins and barely beat the Jets. I still stand by my preseason pick the Skins will go 9-7. I don't see that getting the wild card this year, getting beat out by the 10-6 Lions (yes, Kitna was prescient). J-Dawg

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?
nfc really isnt that weak. at 5-3 we would be out of the playoffs if they began today. the nfc west is weak as well as the south, but there are two 6-2 second placed teams which makes it tougher than it appears.

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?
All I can say now is that it's going tpo be close. For the last 3 years, The scores have been 17-14 PHI, 15-5 WAS, 19-16 PHI. I think we will pull it out because of the terrible team in Philadelphia.

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?
Not yet, hopefully after this coming up Sunday they will be one game closer to be finished.
The Mcnabb era is coming to an end.

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?
Better still, Philly ran off 5 straight wins of their own just last season to take the NFC East. They will be playing next week as if their lives depend on it, so Gibbs better get the Skins up for this game. The Skins certainly aren't good enough to take anyone for granted as demonstrated by the narrow escapes against Miami, Arizona, and the Jets.

Re: Is Philly Officially Dead?
Has anyone seen the point spread? Its Washington by 1, when the home team gets three. This is embarassing. Aren't we better than Philly?
