maybe, but leinart or Cutler havent shown me that much, and yes they got a qb by trade, but he cant stay healthy, plus I thought Sage deserved a shot at the job from what i saw of him last yr,but once Schaub was traded for i knew they wouldnt give Sage a chance unless Schaub got hurt
Maybe Young wont turn out to be anything special, but by me saying it was a no brainer,I mean it would have made everyone in houston deliriously happy with the pick, and even if he did suck we would be ok with it,but by picking mario that just pissed most of the texans fans off and Mario did nothing to help that till recently, and the texans have yet to defeat Young.Young running it in in OT last yr was like a dagger in the back

Re: Mario Williams

DEs and WRs can take 3 years to develop. reggie bush wasn't the best RB that year (but he was the best WR - dude's fast, but can't seem to break a tackle to save his life).

williams is a physical freak (4.6 @ 270 lbs), so it's not surprising to see that some experience has helped him use that... plus is contract wasn't THAT bad for a 1st overall pick.

meanwhile young hasn't proven much, besides that the titans have a good defense and a good kicker (not that the ten WRs are doing anything to help). I think leinhart is better right now even with less experience. (young would have really helped ticket sales though).

As for Mario Williams, I'm really happy for the kid after all the abuse he took in the press for the sin of being picked 1st.
marty could win with the players he picked though... i mean rod sucked, but marty still got him over 1000 yards... not to mention... tony banks.

Re: Mario Williams

Cool That Guy is back.

But I agree, Mario Williams was the smarter pick because lets face it, Reggie Bush is just a glorified kick returner and Vince Young is a slower stronger Michael Vick. I thought it back then and I thought it now Mario Williams is just like Julius Peppers but not as fast and was defintely the better pick and That Guy makes a point: His contract isnt that bad for a 1st overall pick.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.
