I may have missed a post in this thread, but if nobody else has mentioned it, Reed has something that guys like Arch never had: he's got heart.
This guy is playing inspired football with a purpose, he's not some overpaid clown who's just gotten a huge check (Brandon Lloyd anybody?), or some hotshot like Pacman Jones getting busted for DWI's and nightclub shootings. I dare say we'll never see his name for the WRONG reasons, which seems like a prerequisite these days for a lot of players who are physically more gifted athletes. IMO, guys like Reed Doughty are classic staples of a Joe Gibbs team. I remember when I heard his story in the preseason I was thinking that he's just the kind of guy that would have been a workman-like player on an 80's - 90's Joe Gibbs team.

kind of like Mark Murphy? i hear what your saying. Doughty is giving the skins something they didn't think he had. very good tackler, and when used right, can be very effective. another good job by coach Williams for getting guys in the right position to succeed
