Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
Looks like it got cancelled this year. The reason for that is because we don't play the NFC South this year, and since New Orleans came in third in the NFC South we play them. The reason for playing Tampa Bay for like 4 consecutive years was because we either were A. playing the entire NFC South, or B. because they came in the same place as us in their division all those other years.
The schedule looks good, I like it. There aren't too many stretches that I think we'll have difficulty with, although playing Steelers, then bye week, then Cowboys and then Giants will be somewhat tough. I like that we get the bye week before we play the Cowboys at home, that will give our coaching staff more time to prepare. Overall looks pretty good.

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
Browns and Packers are each on three times on Monday night. Texans finally make it, hosting the Jaguars

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
The late bye isn't good, but all in all the schedule appears to be pretty favorable. We're no strangers to ridiculously difficult November scheduling, so that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Here's where the Skins will earn their keep: October. Dallas, Philly, St. Louis, Cleveland, and Detroit. The Rams, Browns, and Lions all have their byes within three weeks prior to playing us, while we have no bye until week ten. I mean, the team is going to have to go 3-2 in October, and they are going to have to do it against some very prepared football teams. I do like the bye week right before Dallas comes to FedEx though.

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
Looks good right now but that really doesn't mean much. Teams that look tough now might not be so good and teams that look weak now could be tough, so who knows.
I do like the bye week though. Seems like we always get stuck with early byes. |

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
I like the bye where it is. I like having it in the middle of the year, let's the player recharge when they're typically dinged.
I dislike the 4 Away games out of 6 to finish the season, including two trips all the way out to the west coast (Seattle week 12, San Fran week 17). But I love the 4 home games out of 5 from week 6 through week 11, including the bye in there. That's quite a homestand in there. Hopefully we can get it going!

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
I've seen better and I have seen worse. Its just so tough to tell anymore until the season starts. Like last year we thought beating Miami to start the year was a good win only to see them fall to the bottom.

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
It could be that the NFL just didn't consider the last game at Texas Stadium to be a big deal. I mean it's not like Fenway Park or Wrigley Field or something. To me, and most NFL fans, it's just another stadium. I wouldn't see any significance.

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
Well there's the tradition of the rivalry between the two teams. And the fact that the Cowboys played the final game at RFK

Also, I think you're underestimating dallas' popularity, they are "america's team", i.e. the team you root for if your not from texas and have no real fanhood. I hate to say it , but Texas Stadium is a bit special. I went to the Skins game there last year & had a great time till JC threw that pick. There's not a bad seat in the house. It's one of the most easily recognized stadiums in football & is one of the few small venues left. I think the last Skins v. Boys game there should be a big deal for the NFL as well as fans of both teams. |

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
Best part of this schedule IMO is the closing game againsed San Fran, just in case we really need that game like the last couple years....
