Re: The Snyder Monologues

We hav an owner who loves his team like we love this team. He has the money and the desire to make this work. At then end of the day you can count on one hand the owners in this league who have the money and singular motivation to win in this league. Maybe his tactics in the past haven't worked or were simply misdirected but I still think he is a top owner in this league. I really can't think of more than 2 or 3 that I'd "rather" have. Operationally speaking.

Re: The Snyder Monologues

All Dan wants to do, is see the Redskins win football games. It's been that way from the first time he bought the team. Because he is a big fan, he has been guilty of trying to do anything in his power to make them a winner instantly. He has taken a lot of heat from the media and fans outside of the Redskin family. I love him. I like an owner that wants to win and tries to put the best product on the field always. I hate owners that just look at the bottom line and field a team just good enough to sell seats and license merchandise.

I agree there are some owners that don't do anything to help the team or build a stadium or anything. As for him cheering like that I think its great!
he seems like the type of person that is good to sit drink beer and watch a skins game with as long as his buying ofcourse.

Almost as sweet as this video is the shot of Jerry Jones despondent after the loss in Big D last week. Perhaps some more cosmetic surgery will cheer him up.

You know, I always said that despite some of the things he did coming off as needlessly nasty, Snyder wanted this team to win and didn't mind spending money if he thought it would help. This is a lot more than many NFL teams could ever say of their owner. And I think it took him a while to learn that just opening the wallet wasn't going to get it done.

I'll be the first to admit I was disappointed when Ggggrilliamssss wasn't offered the job, especially during the awful tragedy last year and the mental state of the team, but moving past that, I was actually happy that Zorn was the pick and not some "name" like Fossil or even Cowher.

Gibbs wasn't a "name" when he came to town, either, but he built his own legend. I'm not saying Zorn will necessarily replicate that success here and now, but he does seem like a smart guy, a leader who the players respect, and a guy who is sticking to sound principles of winning football.

So, yeah, The Danny definitely looks like a genius, but you have to believe he thought this strategy through. And he had the guts to say "whatever, I don't care what the writers or pundits say" and go with his gut.

Re: The Snyder Monologues

It is great to see an owner so happy for his team and players. Sure he has done some boneheaded things in the past and will do more in the future but he truly loves this team.

Re: The Snyder Monologues

All the sportscasters and sportswriters who were so highly critical of Dan Snyder are all suddenly jumping on the Redskins bandwagon.

This off season, in my opinion, was a testament to the fact that he has learned his lesson and while there is still a lot of season to go with a rookie head coach at the helm, no team is off to a stronger start than the Redskins.
My comment was directed to us fans, and not so much Dan Snyder. Had we been standing 1-4 instead of 4-1, this thread would have been one big bleep. We would've bemoaned about losing Williams, b*tched about Cerrato, I for one would have continued the Jeff George rant... BUT we ARE 4-1, and not a by-chance 4-1. Still, I agree though, it seems Dan has evolved, maybe matured in his mgt.

Re: The Snyder Monologues

Snyder wanted Spagnuolo (Sp?) from the Giants as head coach (as everybody knows). He's lucky that Spagnuolo wanted to stay in New York. Snyder also talked Greg Blatche into coaching the defense because he's got the Redskins defense playing great ball. I don't have too much to say about Vinny. I'd like to give him some credit, and I'm trying to find a way. Maybe Vinny liked Zorn and through discussions about head coaches, he and Snyder decided Zorn would be better than Fassel. I didn't want Fassel, either, so we're all lucky in that respect. Snyder deserves a lot of credit for going through his process of hiring the head coach and coming up with Zorn.
